the HouseDress i was looking for is not here.   But This WAS….i'd forgotten.   I was inspired to make it because of the Robe pattern,  learning that i could make clothing by Hand.   Is patterned after one of the many denim jumpers i wore to smithereens.   I don't know the term,  garment wise,  but the skirt of it begins somewhere around the hip.  My most loved.   It's raw silk,  Noile, from Dharma Trading,  dyed with walnut.   The piece on the bodice is a gift from Marti,  kantha stitched.

i added the insert to the sides because it was too form fitting.  needed it to be very loose.   Never finished the edges there.  I see i did finish the neckline.   I'll try it out in the morning,  see if it might work for those little waking hours of Tea.   Past that,  silk is too warm.  It carries New Mexico in it.   I'll try that out too,   wearing New Mexico in Sierra Nevada.

Giving Water to B this eve i see that the Hydrangea has a bud cluster of BLOOM.  This is nothing short of a Miracle.

I have zero talent for clothes design and retrofitting. Z-E-R-O. But I sure do love to follow along with those who do.

This Dress..So beautyfull!!! Yes,, wearing New Mexico!!! Hydrangeas I have found to be so adaptable… they live to give bloom even potted and neglected! I had some in pots for 6 years,, and last year I helped my granddaughter plant them in her yard.. she just sent a picture of them starting to leaf out. MN weather is SLoW to transition.

I love it .. it would be a perfect morning dress. It truly looks sooo warm and wonderful. How fun that Marti’s cloth would share in this spirited time of day. I love it!!

Grace, this is stunning! Perhaps I should try stitching a garment…food for thought. I also love the New Mexico/Sierra Nevada reference. I have strong connections to both also.

the only way i could have attempted this is because of
Jude’s way….made it possible. I can see and imagine how these things go, but then to actually follow through?, Not. But Jude made it possible for this.

i am not so much into making clothes. How i live is a kind of Goodwill life…so much there to recycle and i don’t go anywhere where i might want to look differently anymore….
but i am so so happy that i made this and the other one i can’t find…to know that i CAN. I CAN make things if i need to…and BY HAND.
I so much want to know more about your N Mex and Sierra Nevada threads….i would love it if you told that here so We could All know, but i will try to email you too…this is so great to hear, Love
