the phone/camera  stayed  In.

They came. They forgot  part of what they wanted to do today…left it home,  the wheel for the Gate down there,  so it had to go a different way and it did.   The hitch got put in place on the goat boat for the possible Evacuations.   Old hitch no good.  New hitch,  Ready.   Yes.

She looks on internet about how to do things.  They worked on a frame that will hold rocks.   Cattle panel cut and clipped into a square.  Fill with rocks.   A pillar.   For the Gate  down there,  at the bottom.

All the while,   Caroline and the little ones were out…merging.  There was really not any challenging for Caroline at all.   They are done with that.   The  little ones zipped and flew and at one point went off with the Herd somewhere for a while…Caroline stayed here.   I watch all this.  To understand how to go forward.   I take my cue from her.   Those little ones….they are Ready to just become Herd.   it all rests now on Tay.   She has remained on leash.    Soon,   at some point,  must be let off and Fate will prevail.

The little ones are growing up so fast. Did Caroline just want some peace and quiet? I’m glad she’s being left alone now.
I really hope the fire season’s mild, but it’s nice to know you are ready.

she is finding herSelf in an interesting position with the Herd. She’s never been one to assert herSelf. Now tho…she has two kids. That has meaning to Them. and it’s even more complex for them because they are not doe or buck. It’s a whole unknown dynamic. She has been and continues to be, the BEST MOTHER ever.
this will be my third summer here. The first and second, evacuation. it would be GLOriOUS if it wasn’t necessary this time…just one, FREE????
it would be so easy if it were just people…get in your vehicle and go. It’s the complexity of the Goats. But we will be as ready as we can be. I hope things up more north are good for you…i love it that you are THERE

I love that the human kids are being very resourceful! And looking to see how they can do things is great. Too many people pose a question in forums expecting others to give them an answer instead of looking it up. Curiosity is a great skill to have.
I do hope there is no evacuation this summer! But better to be prepared.

I hope you get a break this year. We usually have a goat shepherd who parks his camper next to our house, and looks after his goats on the downhill side of our hill. I don’t know if he will be here, because PG&E is using goat herds to keep down vegetation around the power lines. Goats have plenty of work to do! I’m amazed at the complexity of goat society!
    My goodness, Grace, three years.
