the yard was very overgrown and she worked to mow it down but saw this cluster of Plant Being and "knew" it to be saved.  Now it has spread,  in just this short time,  Chicory.   These are pics she messaged me and when i saw them i remembered the roadsides in Michigan.   Have not seen since.   Till today.  the Blue Blue Up Turned Face…Face of     Love

I have self seeded radicchio here – essentially the same blue flower chicory-family flowers. They were very bleached in color until the big rain last night. This morning about twenty plants just popped all the way open and the flowers are finally that rich unique blue.
    T. and I had a great open-hearted discussion today about what he calls his ‘submerged’ biracial experiences. He asked me to share my feelings about how I perceived him being raised colorblind meant he was also raised to perceive himself as a white male. Said I felt very strongly that he may not have biracial experiences to work with but he definitely has psychic and emotional/intuitive antenna that identify him as biracial at awareness and reception levels.
Know you are not one for novels but you might really be enriched through making an exception for Underground Railroad. You would be IN that book within this larger moment and what it’s coming to mean for you personally. Can send it to you as/when you feel confident and safe accepting the package or somebody comfortable picking it up if you like …

So many good reads .. yes Colson Whitehead Underground Railroad and also his latest The Nickel Boys. Thank you Grace and Marti listened to the On Being late last night / early morning so will listen again. So much of the conversation hit home. I have so much to learn .. so much I want to learn.

In the days- long gone by- when a group of four of us traveled backroads to Vermont for the annual quilt show- one of the group was always on the look out for roadside chicory. Wanting us to remember where we saw it so we could dig some up on the ride home. Usually, too much quilt talk, and we forgot. In my mind, it’s the perfect blue.
