Red shoulder Hawk.   What happened?    I'd commented to Jenny a week or so ago,  how there seemed to be three…how there was so much flight,  circular,  back forth,  so much calling.   We said maybe mating?,  maybe a pair and a fledgling?   And now i wonder….territory?   There is also a full wing,  tail feathers.  I've brought most of them here.   no body,  feet,  head.   I asked Tay to look.  She found nothing more.  I will build a bird with what there is.

this ALL so good ~ those feathers takes my breath away, I would love to know their stories, their drama. This hawk is one of the most magnificent birds ever, to watch. They play on the wind, soar with the thermals without moving a wing. They are fierce about their nests, perch and roost trees, and their offspring. They will play half a day away, with ravens or crows. Not to sound too sappy here – they are also oh-so-fond of rabbits, squirrels, and neighborhood cats, other birds…
the cloth, in every way, is good. blessings

Oh my .. I feel sad for the hawk but those feathers. I have no doubt that you will create something very beautiful with them. And your cloth Grace is truly growing beautifully.

Hawk medicine has so much to do with intensified sight and spiritually attuned/keenly focused binocular vision. I wonder if there might be a pairing between the feathers and Italian Alkanet? To help bring the bird you will make to life?

i hear them….and the Crows….don’t often see through
the canopy of Trees, but listen
They perch on the Pine in front of the feed shed, looking down…i can see their eyes when they are there, often
yell up to them to leave Talkie and Puppy alone. Talkie especially. Somehow i think Puppy could fight for her life.

yes. no bones. not a single bone.
there are beings that live here that i have never seen, i am sure of it. Maybe i will never see, know,
that would be glad for this Hawk.
I am surprised Tay could find nothing anywhere near by

Your cloth looks like a map- an view from the sky. I know that crows circle and stay with an injured member of their family. Perhaps those three stayed until the end.

Likely the hawk got away minus these feathers… a minor hawk skirmish.. and a holy gift to you.. Here in AZ they come together each fall to screech and spiral in readiness for migration flights, it seems they are getting aquainted/reacquainted…telling stories of summer hunting grounds… of loved ones and caring and offspring raised… dangers faced and journeys yet to come
