just up the highway,  Lake Oroville

20200922_171708

the road has no shoulder for the most part.  it ascends.  or descends.   is very winding.   we  intended to drive up as far as we could…till the road block but got here to the bridge and there it was….in the distance…what's left of uncontained Fire.  The part they can't find a way to contain.  Deep canyons.  All along the way were places like this…ember flares that burnt out on their own quickly enough for little damage…maybe Put out?   There were also stretches that were completely burned.  Trees,  blackened sticks,  power lines burned or lying limp on the ground, tangled.

just above the rail,  the smoke on the horizon.  Where fire is.  Looks far.  is not.  What is referred to as the Forbestown Fire.  Where we stood here is 3.7 miles from the Hill.   That Fire  is about that distance from the Hill,  as the Crow flies,  which is one breath for a Fire like this.

I hold thoughts. did i send the red clover/chrysoprase? to sprinkle around. there where you go. at alyssia’s etc. can detail if you need in email. I have been to that lake at a fraction of current age. was kind of gobsmacking to see the picture and realize I was half Alyssia’s current age.

We who live in a fire based ecology are bettered if we come to terms with fire, a holy element. For some it is Water, for some it is Wind, here we are in Fire’s domain. Yes it can get dangerous (like deep stong water).
ALL of us live along side the supreme elements….. may we all take heart, stay well and strong.
    Holding on,

Please stay super vigilant. The fire that took our home, everything, covered 13 miles in less than an hour! Its so fast you can’t even think. Pack a small bag with important documents, and a handful of special trinkets, things to bring some comfort and familiarity if everything is gone. Also, just ad a heads up, goddess forbid the worst happens, know that assistance is not quick, or plentiful. We thought Red Cross and FEMA would help. Not so much. Red cross has evicted our community members from their hotels, after not even two weeks. For those who have been lucky enough to receive aid from FEMA…$800 for everything, your home, belongings, etc. Thats if you are a renter, without insurance. We didn’t even receive that, FEMA denied us before they even talked to us?! Our mountain is still burning and the road is still closed. The county shared a photo, we saw our property, a pile of ash. But we can’t get there yet.
I don’t mean to cause a scare, but I wish I had known before what I know now. Pack blankets, your favorite pillow, water bottles, cash, while you have time. We will never be unprepared again. The fire was just the beginning of the nightmare. It goes on and on.
I am keeping you close to my heart. You’re in my heart, day and night. It seems as if my whole state is on fire, so much devastation up and down the west coast. My soul is in tatters, my spirit nearly broken. Do anything you can now…just in case.
Love, love, and more love. You matter. I worry. ♡♡♡
Ps..I know, this is a really heavy email. Please delete if you want. I really don’t want to be a bummer in peoples days. I just think there is so much we don’t know until we have been there.

just at the feeling tone level it seems that deep red mahogany energy will merge/complement quite well with that bright mint green color vibe. Did i sent you a pic of the actual stone I used? if not I will if you ask. there’s an eye in it …

I don’t think you’re being a bummer at all. You’re telling your story. You don’t know me, or I you but because of your words I’ll be holding you and your loved ones, all that you are and all you have lost, close in my heart. That has to be worth something – the thing we give each other because it’s what we have.

Sigh…I suppose this (typepad blogs) will happen to all of us soon.
I remember going to look at the valley when the dike broke on the river nearest where we lived. we stood on a crest and looked out at what should have been miles of farmland covered with water. Beth is right, we all have our “something.”
