the opposite bench seat.  across from me,  here at the Everything Table.  Two Cloths now and the folded denim futon cover.  ONLY.   For some long time…2 or 3 months?   a shipping box.  From Lace Lady.   some things taken out,  some remaining.  Today,  All Taken out.

And today was my Freedom day.   My two weeks post second vaccination.   The day i could venture out.   But i've made the decision to wait until Alyssia's second vaccination and then her 2 week wait…which will bring us to April 15.  another 15.

so.

many things today.  That shipping box on the bench seat….from LaceLady.   I kept waiting.  i didn't know why.  But kept waiting.  I knew that in it was the body of a Flicker that she had come upon long ago in Alaska.   That it had appeared.  No sign of dismay.  Just there and dead.   She did what she knew to do to preserve it and it had been in her shop since.  

she sent it to me.  i'd said.  Flicker,  my life  bird.  and then Crow,  my totem.  She sent it.  All this time i knew.  Today was the day.  and it is here,  it's head bowed in a soft death.   it's body intact but abandoned.  How it is and will always be.  This bird goes ahead of me.

Maybe today was the day because this morning Alyssia messaged me that she had found BOOTS.  On the post of  Feb 23,  LaceLady posted a pic of her boots in the comments   and i had shown Alyssia….these,  i said.   She found them this morning on some FaceBook page.   $30.  Did i want them?…Yes.  so much.  i do want them.  So LaceLady's boots.  Work boots.  and time to open the Flicker Spirit.

oh,  Then.   Margery Knott who i have been exchanging words with for some time.   Margery Knott.  Has created a web site.  THIS is MORE than i could HOPE for.  I am beyond ecstatic over this.  Beyond.

and then…as if this was not all Enough,  Deb Haaland  was CONFIRMED by the Senate.  51 to 40.  Deb Haaland,  Secretary of the INTERIOR

so here.  On Spirits own terms.    I am ready.  There is more.  but that can wait till tomorrow.
