so

it DID happen.  They have seeded,   established   themSelves.    True to how i have known them my whole life.   Who could hope for more.

i look up and in the far distance through the design of tree branches,  a MOON rises and it is blood red.   The Fires….Far away but burning my moon Red.

I love the title of this post because it serves as a philosophy of life. Your little flower, upright, strong, is truly one of the sacred, joyful ordinaries. It brings you joy, it brings me happy!
I’ve just come back from watering our pot garden and harvesting Swiss chard for antihero meal…it is truly amazing how a little oblong pot can hold enough veggie to feed us. This will be our 5th meal of Swiss chard and that to me is joy.
PLUS, when we moved here, there was a sad oleander bush, plunked in the gravel by the right side of our place. Lower leaves were brown and it looked so bedraggled that it touched me. I removed the dead branches, fed it with compost tea, watered and slowly, it has grown and greened…This morning it has gifted me with a few red blossoms and that is, if I may borrow your wonderful words, exceptional joy.

I see more blossoms of joy coming. I’ve manage to have me fresh flower in a tiny vase by my sink since the early days of spring. I never had a kitchen sink that didn’t have a window … so seeing that one little flower has become my window to the outside.

Ha…I’ve just come back from the library and came here and boy did I do a goofy spelling or else typepad has a gremlin…meant to say “another” meal but spelled the words as “antithero”…hmmm, it’s not political season yet so I’m wondering what was on my mind…!!!

It only takes one. 🙂 When the wildfires color the sky, moon, sun…I haven’t found the words for it yet.

Last year I planted three coneflowers and only one survived. But as summer progressed two plants started growing nearby and they turned out to be coneflowers–progeny of the lost ones. One is bigger than the survivor. The other is smaller, but has buds that will have time to bloom. JOY indeed!
We have fires again this year, but not as bad a last year. The moon shines normally here.
When we are connected to the natural world around us, life sometimes seems so magical.
