I love it! Perfect as is. Or….a ‘not-quite-blank’ canvas 😁

my eyes land on what is beneath, and behind. the hidden promises which Mo describes so well.
β€œJust begin and the mind grows heated; continue, and the task will be completed!” by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe.
the idea that “layers in your art that are inspired by the layers in your life.” this concept/idea is on an old post-it note, in my so-called “studio”. https://tinyurl.com/5afr4aeh
what I really love is the size and shape of the “curtain slowly rising” (paraphrase of Mo’s comment). the bookshelf. the table top. the possibilities tender as a rosebud, deep and strong as the land of the Hill.
my mind darned near blew up with ideas…I’m getting very antique, but the beauty of “possibility” doesn’t recognize that so well – it’s a grand dichotomy!

Well…pick a scrap from the pile, take paper and pencil, go sit outside, in your favorite spot, place the items on the ground and just sit, eyes closed, to take in the wind, the scents in the air, listen for birdsong, the sounds of Tay roaming about, the sounds of Puppy quietly skulking about, the sounds of Talkie as she comes down from her branch perch, the shuffling sounds and dust filled swirls that signify the goats…listen to your heartbeat, listen to your breath, open your eyes, and see what your hand wants to draw, see how the scrap of cloth might become more…
    OR/
take down the curtain, hang it outside, take the basket of scraps and your pencil, draw right on the curtain or on paper, pin cloth scraps and , if you are not drawing on the curtain, walk about, roam your hill, let the “idea” curtain sway in the wind, let the sun warm it, come back and begin…

Makes me think of the term “tabula rasa,” a blank slate and anything is possible. Not sure I believe that though.
