i have tried for over an hour to size these pics correctly to no avail.   But they are ok.  kinda froglike,  but ok enough to Journal the page.

i contiued and  continue to look at how it was yesterday,  what the shift was.   And maybe this is some of it…that first pic being how i have felt for the 2 years now of Covid.   a Barrier

the mask,  a barrier .   i thought about how it has muted me.  i say little from behind it.  I transact business.   Buy things,  pay for things then  leave and pull it off outside the door.   Go home.   This morning i asked….who am I behind that?  Who have i always been?,  before all this?  Who  am i still?

in the morning news there was the top story that Biden is saying that Covid is part of life.   and i think…well,  there it is.  In the headlines.

What a great smile. We have been hiding our smiles for a while. I am not even going out much right now. The weather sucks and I am being careful again. So glad to see you come out with a smile and I agree that Covid will be here. Might as well smile and keep going..

Well, as often as I have to click on images to make them larger, why not just let them be large to begin with? I recall the reduced sizes were to reduce the time it took to display a page, but that doesn’t seem to be as much of an issue these days
And yes, Covid and chaos seem to be the new normal … sigh

Yes, unmasked smiles is what the world needs now but that reality must be kept behind closed doors! Great to See Ya!!!

Hi Grace! I am thinking about Rip Van Winkle these days – coming out of isolation has its own challenges. But also noticing HOW MUCH I appreciate a simple conversation in person with a friend. Masked or unmasked, really!

I am astonished at how many people I recognize even with the masks. it’s the eyes.
And we speak to each other. And…I am always thankful for those few exchanged words.
We are asked to double mask here in Maine even fully Vaxed and Boosted.. One paper surgical under a cloth or N5 mask.
Our COVID spokes person mentions each morning- that CHILDREN are now in ICU even on ventilators..
We have more and more cases but all unvaccinated. The Voting base is dying off.

so…it’s how it is. And to just go….in our best way.
i see from today that i need to imagine that the mask is
not there…that’s it’s just me, as i have always been…
to go from the just me.
I will continue all the stringent protocols because they make difference…to me, maybe, but to humanity as a whole.
and i need to make the effort to BE from behind the mask.

we need to learn how to smile THROUGH them…or, i need to.
To take the extra to communicate SMILE in my exchanges.

Yea priceless! So nice to see your face even if a little distorted. On our dog walk this morning, a neighbor we’d never met exclaimed to us about her new yaktrax for walking in snow and on ice. We were outside and more than six feet apart, so no masks. I wondered how the isolation of the season and the virus were perhaps getting to her. We had a really nice exchange, one that might not have occurred in “normal times.”

So good to see you there in your place, smiling. I think the work babies know when we are smiling from our eyes and they smile back. They are leaders in this crazy experiment (interactions, language development..). So, hugs and smiles to you, to All!
Also, not sure how you are trying to do the photos, but I have found that if I size from the corner, it keeps the correct proportions.
