about yesterday?
No edit here. a pure journal entry. Need it here. What was it that made the town trip so different? Began with the blossoms on Alyssia's Plumcot down at where this Hill road turns onto Carefree way. Taking pics for Alyssia, my face into them, bees and then all the way into town, trees blossoming every where. Love in the grocery….noticing different shoppers, the sincerity to their task, the downs syndrome person meticulously bagging for his mother, the deli kid, so gracious. then the Elder Asian couple in their spotless white toyota pickup, exiting slowly, white buttoned to the collar matching shirts and baseball type caps, impeccably impeccable and i wanted NO ONE to Ever not honor this, the thought of people being rude…i could not bear
I thought about all of US, humanity, know that there would be no one that wouldn't respond to a loving kindness, not over done and sincerely given of truth that the person could recognize. None of us, even the roughest would not be touched…is that true?, if it spoke to something real, i think so.
At alyssia's, her climbing the fence and coming back with this branch from the small tree on the far side of the Yellow House. I'm swinging, on the round swing, watching the swinging back and forth, holding that blossom twig watching the now and again walkers then the appearance of two walking and i instantly asked Alyssia, who are they? They don't belong here….and we surmised they might be detectives…2 days ago there was a house fire 3 doors down, now tapped off for suspected arson. I think we were right and then thought….them too. Words of Loving Kindness. Same. Someone came carrying a coconut, stopping half way up Mill St to face the side of the street, appearing to be talking to the coconut. and then reaching down to pick up a piece of paper and squat, setting the coconut gently down and reading the paper, his mouth moving and when i left and passed, he looked up and smiled the most gentle smile. MY loving kindness from a stranger who carries a coconut and reads trash.
this morning the Baker Creek Catalog, how they mingle food and flowers….Of Course! and it occured to me that it was the blossoms on Alyssia's plumcot ….what we are learning of neuro science and Spirit….those blossoms triggered the drip of dopamine….that continued, that changed everything. and then, of all things, a facebook article…Mel Robbins on the Breakfast Club. Her, DJ Envy, Angela Yee and Charlamagne tha God…talking about her book the High Five Habit…..THE SAME THING, neural associations that trigger the drip…dopamine….and then….NPR Morning Edition…A wildlife sanctuary in England trying to encourage their population of Barbary Macaques to mate. They are playing Marvin Gaye songs and have even hired an impersonator to perform live. The park's director said they did notice a lot more grooming going on. Will it work? but even if the publicity will just raise awareness and interest……….
i went off to the Garden but continued to think. Plants for me. Plants trigger the drip. Cloth and totally when plants are dormant. Words, arranged in certain connection and pattern, poetry. and then music, sounds patterns and i laughed and went to UTube…Marvin Gaye Got To Give It Up. Early 70's. That song changed everything in my life for better and for worse.
there's more.
