Love this: the Hill is such a wonderful playground, place of wonder, discovery and learning. Oh the things that old Nana can show and teach Emrie and oh the things that Emrie can show and teach Old Nana…

sleepovers … such a special kind of holding and letting go …
and clamber … that’s the word your picture evoked … although Emrie’s climbing appears effort-lessLikeLike

is this a new fence? lumber is so expensive right now, at least here.

everytime she’s here and we go to feed Jack Flash, she climbs the fence. counting the slats. the repetition. It has meaning to her.

she had to learn how to place her feet and takes great
pleasure in having done that. She likes remembering when
she would fall.LikeLike

it’s the Jumping Jack Flash Evac Trap. Small. not finished. We need to get back on it. an opening with a closure will be cut in his cattle panel fencing. Idea is to feed him in
there so he gets used to it. Then…if it’s evac time, we can close him in. WE hope. He is a very STRONG Goat and extremely skittish, extremely hard to catch. Takes forever and Alyssia has to be the one to finally lunge and grab. Hang
on. It’s dangerous. She’s not feeling good this year. We need it more than ever.LikeLike

as above to Jude. Her sleepovers become more and more
each time. Her understanding of her Place on this Hill, of taking her Place. It is wordless but very RealLikeLike
