at Garden today,  i thought….I need compost.   Like,   me.    i need to give self compost.    and so…

for now,  it will be  The Work That Reconnects .org   based in the teachings of Joanna Macy.  Specifically,  to start,   Deep Times  A Journal of the Work That Reconnects.   

"Honoring Our Pain for the World.   In owning and honoring our pain for the world and daring to experience it,  we learn the true meaning of compassion: to "suffer with".   We begin to know the immensity of our heart-mind .  What had isolated us in private anguish now opens outward and delivers us into the wider reaches of our inter-existence."

this is where i'll stay through the remainder of this 77th year.

    Thank you,Grace. I am deeply touched by both your drawing and by the wisdom you shared. “Honoring our pain for the world,” rather than letting our grief immobilized & numb us,is always important — especially now. It’s been quite awhile since I’ve read Joanna Macy. Thank you for reminding me. And thank you again for the spirit-filled drawing that is just what my heart needs at this moment.

    this figure, especially, conveys such ease of being. I am glad you feel that there on the Hill. Joanna Macy was interviewed, twice, on the podcast The Way Out Is In. a delightful listen.

    Back in Sept 2020, I made a heading in my journal “Honoring Our Pain for the World”. Then I never put anything else on that page. I think I was too bewildered then. I will “reconnect” following your example. I really love the concept of self-composting.

    Austin Kleon’s recent blog mentions the concept of watering your garden.. and feeding your own compost and he adds a thought by Ann Pachett… basically says “You are a compost heap, the combination of Everything you have encountered, what you know, what you have forgotten, that ideas start to grow.”

    we…I….move so fast between things presented on this
    screen….
    i get mail from Work that Reconnects Network and for some time have passed it by but it stood out in some kind of
    psychic neon and it’s perfect. They have inperson workshops somewhere south of here. Maybe in the
    future
    i might actually go?
    I have her books somewhere in storage but the website is
    FULL. Am so glad for that Neon.
