we all met at the Visitors Center.  It's about 5 minutes from this Hill,  just across and to the end of Miner's Ranch Road.    The Center itself was closed so we walked the Trail,  carrying our box of Vietnamese food till we found a place and sat.   Eating.  And then walked again until we got to this view of the spillway….Oro Dam.

Only 5 minutes away,  but an entirely different biome.  Manzanita.   a Manzanita Forest.   How old are these Manzanita trees here?   i need to learn this.  There is pine.  But no Oak there.   Completely different than here.  5 minutes.    i need to go back.  Learn.

Jeff.  my grandson.   Widower of T.   Age 32.  Father of Brinley.   T  died in November.   6 months.  First Mother's Day after.    So we were calling it Family Day.   Happy Family Day we said.

The milestones of grief, it is good to be with Family for all of you. And such a pretty place!

A special, healing place to come together as a family on this day; the lake looks so soothing, the green of the manzanita forest, just enveloping you in softness…

Happy family day. Catching up on posts here… Such good news about Sunny Ray. And Joanna Macy… It’s been a while since I’ve visited her work. I remember her saying you wouldn’t stop loving someone who was terminally ill and so we go on loving the earth as we witness what is happening. I knew in the 1970s that we needed to drastically change our ways. We lost 50 years of making a difference and still it is an issue.
And yes, the agency over our bodies. Glad for the wonder of Emrie but glad there was choice about that. Love to you.

What a wonderful idea, to celebrate Family Day. It sounds like a comforting embrace on a difficult day.

Love your Family Day…a beautiful and healing place to be. I love manzanita. We have it here too, especially near the Nature Center we’ve been visiting. May you have many return trips as a Family.

it was what we could do.
Brinley wanted…at the end of the day…to make a
    Card
    a folded paper
    for her mother
    a card
    that said
    Happy Mother’s Day
    at four
    the world IS.

To keep company, that is huge. We don’t do Mother’s day in my family, my mom has some strong opinions about it. We did have our weekly call though. πŸ™‚
