Third day in a row that Michelle showed up.   Cannot Ignore.   OK,  Michelle.

and They

are talking.    These from 3 bags in the basket that is always to my left,  here,  at the Everything Table.    I spilled them out together and there….Michelle.   Right there.   What is the message from the streets of NYC   What do these scraps want?

    I miss Michelle, her photos and her late night rambles, too. The streets of New York are full of diversity–both people, critters and things. Keep your wits about you, approach everything with kindness, observe, celebrate, and make something.

    I came here. Said nothing. Thought of Michelle in NYC. Thought of how I still think of her so often & how she left her mark on so many of us. I wondered about that kind of ‘mark making’…just still think of her and keep her with me.
    When you speak of Real…I first think of The Velveteen Rabbit. Much has been said of this realness in the past over at Jude’s and other places.
    I next think of the lines from the book, The Outsiders when one of the characters, one of the boys is in the hospital after being badly burned in a fire saving children…another one of the boys, one of the main characters had previously been reading to him and they wonder about the meaning of Robert Frost’s poem “Nothing Gold Can Stay”
    Nature’s first green is gold,
    Her hardest hue to hold.
    Her early leaf’s a flower;
    But only so an hour.
    Then leaf subsides to leaf.
    So Eden sank to grief,
    So dawn goes down to day.
    Nothing gold can stay.
    As he is dying, he says, “Stay gold Ponyboy”
    I have put these two together today in my mind…real & gold…being real and holding that wonder and innocence of youth…combining it with wisdom of growing older…A lovely way to be I think. You embody this to me Grace. Big Love to you.
