Jude is going into cloth and paper.   stitching and

drawing

and this,   this 

form

of plant fiber   that i have had for so long.   That is in that basket that i photograph so often,  with other living things, stones, shell,  with safety pins recently…That basket,   where it 

LIVES    in an incredibly Beauty Full tangle of fiber that is STRONG.   in its present form that we might call dead

i have followed along on Velma's blog…Wake Robin…velmabolyard.com    for years.   Her papermaking.  ALL that it IS.

There's SO MUCH to think about.

    I look at the tangle of cloth strips, look at them “dancing” in the photo… strong cloth, dancing cloth,and what I think about are the children who died in Uvalde.
    ABC Evening News,for the past two days, high lighted each and every child,telling a little about them from their families. So many of them happy, helpful, loving children with dreams; many of the bright, happy 10 yr old girls loved to dance and when footage was shown of some of these dear dancers, my heart broke. The strength, love of these parents, in particular fathers of daughters who spoke so bravely of their deep love for their girls, how they will dedicate their lives to doing what is right, to honor their daughters…
    Just before it got dark, I sat outside, quietly, thinking of my own Father who showed in every way, his love for his girls, who encouraged, who quietly taught us about life, on so many important levels, and I heard his voice say, “amor siempre para mis hijas” love always for my daughters. Those Uvalde daughters will always have their parents love, their special Father’s love.
    May this be the time when we stand and face and say “no more” and VOTE…

    and vote. as plain as that sounds, to vote. Vote for
    those who don’t rely on gun money to support them. Vote
    for those who can imagine what will be needed to make
    the difference. Yes. Vote. such a smiple thing.
