don't know if i've put this here before?   tried to go back in Archives through May….i'd drawn it on 5/16 it tells me…i don't know what was going on to prompt the drawing,  but….internet again ify and i couldn't look.  But here today…and maybe that's enough,  maybe that's how it should be,  here.  today,     Do not be afraid   the Universe tells me.   So much Out There.  So much happening and small things,  like the ending of the Thursdays of On Being….which i realize had become like "Church" for me,  how some people go to Mass on Sunday,  others to their Place  and i went to On Being on Thursdays and after this month,   it will not be there.   Things like this.   But i had the urge to go look for that drawing and i'd forgotten it said

do not be afraid

being afraid is a reasonable response for War,  Societal  Disarray,  desiccation of a Planet  but it is of no

use.

Do not be afraid,  Universe says.   Ok then.   What?

perhaps you can listen to Thursdays of On Being archives online? There is that possibility of course that you have not listened to them all.
Do be afraid (haha I accidentally left out the “not” when I typed that!)…so many thoughts there.

Interesting question: what do you replace Fear with? It is certainly a realistic emotion to be feeling right now with all the uncertainties facing most of us. But I think it has to be replaced with Hope, since you can maintain your equilibrium and build on hope working toward a better situation than exists right now.

I remember seeing the drawing last month. Fear is what has caused war, societal disarray and desiccation of the planet. . .so it is an important action to take apart our own fear and replace it with what we know to be good and strong. sustaining.

Fear has a use, if you take it as a sign. A prompt.

I was caught by the word “transform” in the latest On Being interview. It has been the word I have been illustrating for a class that I have been taking for the last 10 months. I will be diving into the archives, will be interesting to see how On Being will evolve.

i think about this a lot. Hope…which i just cannot
    NOT
    have…
there is always Hope, always. But it seems uhhh, less
    these days.
But i have it. Because i accept fully that there is Some Thing Beyond what we know
and IT will find a Way for the well being of the Whole, whatever that might be

I did a calligraphy once of a phrase I remembered in French. For some reason, I remembered it. I am not a French speaker, but studied French in school and retained some of it. “Je n’ai pas peur” – I am not afraid. Or a more direct translation: I don’t have fear. I love this phrase as a mantra. Maybe better than what I see as a command from outside – “Do not be afraid.” Maybe because I’m saying it to and about myself.

As a dedicated On Being listener, I, too have been sad about the impending change in the schedule, but have to admit that twenty years of weekly interviews must have been a lot of work. The interviews I re-listen to most often are John O’Donohue and David Whyte.
About fear…I feel like I have been enmeshed in fear for years and may now be working my way out. Trust is hard though. Turning away from my news feed helps.
