waking to a hyper awareness.    let that sift through.  drink tea.   Feed  sentient beings.   Feed self.

a phone call,   and in the uncommon ness of Voice to Voice….Voice with Voice….i almost forgot.   for that time,   but then,  as the temperature rose to 102 there was remembering.

i need to slow down,  breathe.  Look closely and slowly and with CARE.   I need,  no,  Want… to… imagine how things might change In My Lifetime…how i might imagine responding,  creatively and with Love to those changes.  and to begin to imagine realistically….Realistically….a part i can play

that is of  Use.

above.   the Malabar Spinach.   There are 6 plants!    SIX!   I am not a good gardener but i am an AVID gardener who Could become good with some self discipline?      Growing Food.   FOOD.  Malabar makes it easy to keep seed.   Do that.  and almost as anecdotal,  they mention how the flesh of the fruit around the seed can  "stain" clothing….to take care….purple….and i grinned, thinking

and how things go:   the last On Being podcast….per request from "younger listeners",  conversation with Adrienne Maree Brown who identifies herself as……one of Octavia's Brood.    wouldn't you know.  ? .

today i ordered Parable of the Talents and   Brown's book….Emergent Strategy.

John Lewis talked of good trouble.   i think….it's time for Good Work.   however we each can identify that in our lives.  Time for Trust.   and Good Work.

I will plant Malabar spinach next year for food, for the color purple. This year I planted New Zealand spinach, does well in heat but today, oh today, glorious on going rain and the rain will go on for several days. Rain cleanses, washes away stains but there is no stain removal for the Supreme Court 5!
Last night, spinach, red onion and mushroom salad so of course, the red onion skins, in the copper pot, splash of vinegar, a large piece of cloth that you sent, thin white cloth, almost see thru cloth plunked in pot. Usually I am gentle with my cloths, fold them, tie them, rarely just plunk them in but that was my mood yesterday…
After a short time on heat, I took the copper pot outside, usually I then transfer cloth to glass jars to solar dye but it was raining. Also the alchemy of red onion skins, vinegar and copper happens quickly and within a short time, a wondrous GREEN mottled cloth appears; mottled due to the scrunching of the cloth which gave it a whole other dimension. Taking a photo of this cloth does not do justice to the greens that “magically” appeared.
In doing the 5 min Thursday Trust meditation, this week a whisper came and I pinned patches of dyed green and brown scraps to a cloth that I had recently dyed with compost, sumac leaves, etc. I give names to my cloths so this is my Trust cloth that will now have an addition, the green mottled cloth from yesterday. When this is all put together and stitched, this Trust cloth will be hung near my grapevines, my focal point on Thursdays.
Green is my color of Hope and I do believe in hope but these days, it will take more than hope, it will take will, commitment and action in whatever form can be manifested. But I never discount hope because this morning I have just learned this:
“Democrat Stacey Adams, who is running for governor of Georgia said in a CNN interview that she had changed her perspective on abortion rights. The Georgia gubernatorial candidate was raised in a religious household and grew up being anti-abortion. She said she understands religious people, but that ideology has no place in medical decisions.”
So I will stitch my Trust cloth this week, it will keep me going during these days of rain. It will keep me centered, will keep me focused, will keep me connected to my sisters, all across this country, for this is the UNITED states of America and we rise and are UNITED:

90 F isn’t impossible here tomorrow, and probably will happen a little further inland. Slow is important right now. Tomorrow evening, since it’s supposed to cool and rain a bit, I am going to plant more beans and lettuce.
I’ve listened to the interview with Adrienne Marie Brown three times now. Lots to consider.

adrienne marie brown is very inspiring. There is a long interview with her on the Between The Covers podcast, May 10. I also listened to the On Being interview. I think I will dye something with red onion skins to try to get the GREEN Marti described!

And I should add that I do not count Roberts in the Supreme Court 5 even though he voted to end Roe v Wade because he did not want it to go as far as it did but he has lost control of the court- not excusing him just noting this.

    delicious?, uh…i wouldn’t say that…there is a
viscousness…subtle, but there, which gives an ify
but i eat leaves as i work through the giving water and there is the SURE sense that it is
FOOD. and that’s where i’m going now. What is FOOD that i can grow…nutrition…to maintain the human body, adult and child. and What WANTS to grow? it grows during the night. i worked to create some kind of trellis for it this eve…Sunday…it wants to climb. it loves heat.
