so thinking about Prayer…i immediately image this book…where IS it?  What did i decide..?  Take or Leave and as i thought i might have chosen leave,  i looked and oh!…..Yes….in the one tub for the roof bag…it's Here….in the Take.

i have no god.   but i love the concept of Prayer.   ???????   then…what is Prayer?   a constant question and that is good,  i think,  a good constant question to have.   to carry.   to live with.   Prayer is a Calling Out.   ?

i transcribed again,  today.    Margery's poem   Prayer  on the cover of the new stenographer's notebook.   the second time.  the notebooks go 2 months or so,   the first for this in April  .      as we move through these times toward  September when the Salmon will run again…Here…up the Feather River…when i see this…in my own life,  them…running,   just a small distance from the Dam that  will  at some point need DIS Mantle   Prayer,  like fish,  their spawn

and this…in the basement of  one of the two Take Baskets…rolled.   forgotten.   but like one of the stick shrines….who?  or What is inside?

and yes…my feet.   my feet are this  dirty.   they are often bare when i hose the water tubs but even if i wear the Crocs,  dirt and debris enter and come In.    My feet.  the floor.   It's not a  "normal"  house.   I live in a campground.  I camp here.

Prayer is active and yes, a calling out but for me, so many years removed from Catholic rote prayers, it is also a conversation…a conversation with who? well, with self and spirit; at times tangibly answered as in receiving the gifts of the land, at other times, elusive but most of the time, the active dialogue helps resolve whatever is on my mind and heart and so it goes
No dirty feet here but dirty hands and nails since I have to have my hands in the dirt when I plant, weed, etc. Cannot wear gloves because then I do not feel that connection; my Dad always felt it was a communion, hands in dirt, dirt to heart; hands to caress and nourish the dirt, in return, the receiving of harvest and joy.

Love the dirty feet! Living outdoors! “I am camping” is what I tell many people and most dont get it. Such a freedom and the closest to a god I can think of. Growing up Catholic I have some very religious cousins who would never understand my views. But as with many subjects and different beliefs, I believe we all are good of heart and love prevails.

Yes, a calling out, claiming, wanting, reaching…
    Your cloth carries me.

Your refrain – take or leave – something I could apply to my own life – if I dared to.
