so, yes.   Krista Tippet,  On  Being,   will be offering a Community Read of   James Bridle's  Ways of Being.   Over the next 7 weeks.   In the previous post to today's she talked of reading this last summer,  using an oversized sketch pad to write and draw in as she read.    I'll use my regular ongoing sketch book.    I am grateful for this at This  moment.   The work of it will ground me as we go into "the next".   i look forward to writing abbreviated quotes,  maybe fragments of sentences and thoughts.   I underline in books and make marks in the margins but this will allow for more.    and i think writing his words,  on  MY page,  will bring a deeper sense of them than just reading and     going on.   And,  also, too, will give space  to note the things that i have been preoccupied by/with in the last Long Time   that are the Same as he gives word to.    SO glad for this.

i don't know where i left off when Typepad was having its Moment…but these are the last ones.   My love of the making has not lessened.

I will come here (and perhaps Deb’s?) for this part of the story, the reading along and digesting. Look forward to that, as I have no time to participate on my own. Others impressions will have to do.
    I’m fascinated with your drawing.
The blocks look great. I like the cloth that looks like jellyfish 🙂 I see so many images in your cloth bits!

I have so many places where I write about what I am reading, a sketchbook has been one place for quite a long time. I love to make big messy webs of thoughts in them, adding doodles on occasion. Did you read on NPR about bees playing?

stitching long seams is the best most lulling way of going … and how your blocks hold that sense of calm

I spent considerable time, enlarging the block photos and getting lost in the wonder of them. Your sense of color and pattern simply enthralls. I would have such a hard time going from one block to the next, stitching them because to play with all of this color and pattern, for me, would be enough!

You’ll have some wonderful written notes from that offering. I could have enjoyed that. I task myself more at writing about stitch projects as I go along or bits in a daily calendar journal and love when I get resale books and previous owners leave their notes too. It just seems to add even more to a story. You’re blocks are growing into even more goodness.
