fast. things move. Saturday morning and i thought how my mind felt like Central Europe. All these different countries with different customs, different "interests", different Languages. delineated by borders that really, don't exist. here, waking to the country of Making, and then moving through, to the country of the book, Ways of Being, and today, saturdays, the On Being country of the community read. then, family, this Hill, Spirit Cloth, the country of our blogs, the country of the News. How i travel this way…all with my mind. All IN my mind.

A podcast that I listened to yesterday was a really interesting addition to thinking about some of what has been brought up in Ways of Being…about the words native and invasive. About how plants and animals travel, either introduced by others or on their own. Listened again to the Carlo Rovelli On being conversation.

Your cloth of light reminds me of stained glass and stained glass reminds me of cathedrals, like Notre Dame in Paris where I promised my Mom I would light a candle all those years ago. I’m reminded of a wee little church in Kinsale, Ireland, St. Multose where a sign out in front of the church says that the church has been in existence sine 1190. Long panels of stained glass adorn the church and interestingly the altar. We found out about this when we stopped outside to read the sign and were invited in while a wedding was taking place.
As special as these cathedrals are, the cathedral of choice and of my heart and my dear Dads has always been the outdoors, where the sky is laced with the spirit of trees, the beauty of the land feels like a benediction, the joy of seeing hills, grasses swaying, rocks, moss and and the living beings, knows no bounds. In man made cathedrals, you hear many languages but in my cathedral, you hear a universal language…LikeLike

how one can be anywhere and everywhere whilst sitting still in one’s chair … it seems the very essence of humanity to be able to do so
and as you hold the cloth up to the light, I confess this is the thing I miss when cloth is stitched to a backing … the loss of transparency, even as it becomes stronger and more wholeLikeLike

still i always go back to thinking how Great it would
be to have a Room, the size of say a gymnasium…BIG
with nothing in it but stuff for making. wood floors.
and a full Wall of Window for hanging things
sometimes i dream itLikeLike

Oops, that was confusing. Yes two different podcasts. Rovelli on On Being and The Ground Shots, Matthew Chew, who is a biologist. I did a lot of listening yesterday. 🙂 I just discovered Ground Shots.

Are you reading ahead or keeping pace with the newsletters? I am reading Chapter four right now and just read a paragraph that echos what I heard in the Mathew Chew conversation…

am keeping pace. I love the thread to Chew but don’t know if i can do it…the battery thing…
if i can pause and return, pause and return i can
but if that doesn’t happen and i have to listen from the
beginning, i can’t.
i will have to rely on you.LikeLike

I am going to listen again, maybe take some more specific notes. It really ties in so well with Ways of Being.
