words in the morning.

IT's  EVENING NOW.    Monday evening.     Last eve i tried and tried  to get both pics and words into this post and as it seems to go for some reason,  Typepad is too touchy for that on Sunday night.   Had to give up.   And all day i thought about the lesson this gave.   There is something for me to writing at the end of each day.   Coming back to this tonight,  ….  there is a strong tendency to just let it go.      so i think about that.   how MUCH would be  just let go if i gave up posting every day.  How do i feel about that.

the dress….Emrie's Michigan Great Gramma sent it.  a Christmas dress and she wants to wear it every day till Christmas.

behind her is Alyssia positioning  the  "sled"  at the back of her SUV where the feed store guys stuffed the two bales of grass hay. These are 3 string bales.   When Jenny ordinarily brings them,  both she and her man lift each bale and carry it down the  slope to the feed    shed.   it occured to me that i should say something about the sled.   It's something that Jenny found and bought last year or so?   Jenny is a How Are We Going To Get This Done person.  They are expensive but they WORK.   Allowing things to happen that otherwise could not.  It's from Yard Glider.com.   She got a large one,  maybe 4ft X 10ft  and this small one for me.  3 X 4.   They don't look like much.   but how they work is amazing.   the terraine here is steep.  Anything with wheels is impossible to control going down hill,  impossible to push going uphill.   There are also a lot of rocks,  large ones.  Those pine cones.   Sticks.   These  actually GLIDE along.   with the small one i can comfortably haul 4 10 gallon buckets of  composted manure and scrap feed  to B Garden.   I can pile it high with the mucked out bedding straw.   HEAVY things.   None of this could happen otherwise.   The large one is to allow the ongoing forever work of bringing downed branches and  cut tree trunks out of the forest to the edge of the road to be chipped someday.   a lot of Us here    do things OutSide.   Thought i could offer this.

the window…all that is on the INSIDE!!!!!…..i'd baked potatoes and a squash earlier.   Then heated the kettle to wash dishes.  it had rained almost constantly,  a night and the day…. and i realized how little i understand about    AIR.    How is it possible that the AIR inside this tin house can be SO FULL of moisture???????  and i don't drown???????

and then….before going on with more reading of  Ways of BEing,  i realize i want to more fully understand the thing of

Umwelt

google.  one's surroundings or environment,   the outer world,     as perceived by organisms within it.

the key….as perceived.       as perceived.   This,   is huge.     i love it.

spent a lot of time with this thought today.

Joy comes when expected and when unexpected and to see Emrie, all in red with a red tartan skirt is an unexpected and oh so festive joy…

Your window looks like a woven mural.

Looking at this pic, I think, I just love kindergarteners! I love this age, how they are becoming independent, but still so attached to their adults. Such Joy!
The window looks like a cave drawing to me. That diamond shape, so ancient. Cool.

SCIENCE. moisture in the “Air”… how heat and cold
    create rivers on glass
and how it does, yes, look like a woven mural, so
    creates

A great Christmas dress and a great way to celebrate a gift – wearing it every day! I’m happy that the Yard Glider is such a great solution for you. I spent about 2 minutes yesterday noticing the twittering birds nearby (nuthatches?) and it felt great (my Umwelt perception in operation).

Oh how I love your Great Grand Daughter! She was born into a Great Family Environment!
Your words here everyday, so expressive and deep into thoughts of inner discoveries.. my thought is what if.. you blogged less often, would you end up writing more to get all it all out?
Laughed out loud .. why don’t we drown? I have such a fear of drowning.. I panic in a shower .. I cant breathe with water in my face.. so now.. I need to know.. why don’t we?
This fear keeps me from swimming, and has made my stay here at The Fountain of Youth not as pleasant as I had hoped. All the hot tubs are 4-1/2 feet deep… sitting on the seats.. I am only 5feet tall.. water is just under my nose.. they have personal bathtubs to soak in, but NO Plugs!! ???!!! Sorry for my rant…
I am grateful you are here, even if not everyday… will give me more incentive to go back into your blog and read years I missed! Much Love!

I think the reason we don’t drown is: The amount of H2O that air can hold is 100% humidity. Over that amount is when it starts dripping on glass and metal, etc. But even at 100% humidity, air is still air, not water. Since the excess water is collecting on the window, it’s not filling (or replacing) the air with water. Hmmm . . . so all that condensation is apparently what prevents us from drowning. I’m sure there’s more to it than that. Air is made of O and H (plus who knows what else), just not the same combination as water.
I love the word and theory of umwelt–our minds and the world are inseparable. That can explain so much about so many aspects of the state of the world today.

I’ve mentioned before how we cobbled together our own kind of sledge in the Hill Country … I think Mo’s word “chuffed” fits how it made me feel as I dragged branches, cactus pads, floodplain rocks, and wood chips thither and yon
