yesterday,   when there was SUN,  after feeding Jack Flash,  i walked on down to B Garden.  I wanted to look for something in the tubs.   These are things i brought back.   i didn't find what i was looking for.   This string bag,  i've had since i was in my 20's.  I've never used it for anything.   Just HAD it.   I loved it.  Was afraid of wearing it out.  Damaging it somehow.   i saw it yesterday and thought it would be the prefect PICNIC bag for me and Emrie.   it has no weight of its self and so could carry an apple,  string cheese,  maybe a donut.   easily.   it could go over Her shoulder.   and as i look at it,  the pattern is one of Goat Eyes.  Perfect.

i also see that the wall cloth is

dirty

it had fallen off and i just put it back….but …eeeee……

and then the other things…not sure how they drew attention,  but they did.   so they are here too.   A large part of this day was spent thinking about them…where they came from,  how they FEEL,  seeing them here on this table.

RAIN AGAIN

Picnics with our kids, grand kids, great grand kids ranks right up there as truly enjoyable times…the goat bag for Emrie, could not be more perfect. Besides snacks, she might also put in some paper and pens to draw the day. The goats eye bag just seems to me to be filled with spirit of the place, the goats, the Hill and maybe that’s why it was never used until now…as Emrie loves to decorate, this bag also will be great for holding treasures along the trail to bring back to adorn old Nana’s table.

Rain…always better in moderation. I can imagine you and Emrie going of on a picnic…the delight in that.

That second photo looks like a renaissance painting.

I like the contrast of the hard little sculptural items against the soft flat cloth.

Soggy earth, high wind gusts, and more rain. Drought-damaged trees may be a hazard. I’m glad you have your girls who help, extra batteries, and all that jazz.
I love your goat-eyed bag to share with Emrie. A picnic bag, art supply bag… A short hike, picnic, and arts/crafts outing. A trip to the library, farmer’s market. Nicely kept and saved for just the right occasions!

It seems like California has become a place of fire and flood as the seasonal gyroscope wobbles between extremes. Your goat-eye bag and dreams of picnics will anchor you as you wait for more benign weather. Happy New Year!
