i thought that was it.   But after i got the blankets in order,   i came back and picked up the pencil.  i could barely see,  the  headlamp battery was dim.   it wasn't till morning that i saw what i'd done.   eeee…out of proportion…….but then……,   No,

we are talking about Moxie here.   and i'm thinking  "inner Moxie"……

first…what is this Gesture ?   Why did it,   drawn with zero  forethought,  so quickly,  without consideration at all,   be  what all it is to me?    for me,?    What all it is.   What all IS it?

this is going to take time.

Self-portrait? Yes. I see the proportion as you as your Doer Self, one who gets things done. As I type this, think this, I think how funny that is to me because I also see you so much as a thinker. But, in this case, my mind went right back to my daughter’s Kindergarten testing where she was asked to draw a picture of herself. Her teacher then went on to explain how she ‘saw’ herself based on that drawing. I look at this powerful arm, large, able to DO so much…I look at this hand, perhaps a bit shaky, but still strong…the face, your face? – serious, so deep, knowing, but not saying. The bands, down the fingers and up the arm…speak to me of power – and also of the bands of color I recently added to my stenciled word SAFE (see on my blog) – they give the sense of wrapping around, encircling – providing boundaries, security, safety…strength.
Now, of course this may not be any of the meaning for you…but I enjoyed the exercise of seeing what I could interpret in your drawing.
    I love your drawings.

Purpose, power, embodying Knowing in Action. I will return to this drawing. It is empowering.

I tried the gesture a few times. A few things came to me – looking into a hand mirror, or looking at your palm would cause this gesture. It is the opposite of a “warding off” gesture, which would be thumb-down. It could be half a hug, starting to happen. Looking at the hand brings to mind the power of making. The senses also came to mind, especially sight and touch. The hand and face are so expressive.

So i see a hand, a gesture like i/you use when you are trying to explain, while holding a thought that cannot be explained.
