i will just leave this until there is some change.   The entire day is Her.   She cannot get up  as in standing, sitting  alone.  She falls.   She is not shitting.   We tried again,  a long laborious walk about this morning and then shorter ones in the day….no.  Ordinarily she goes off a long distance for that…its private.   on a leash is hard enough but the one time she tried she couldn't maintain her balance.  it's a Hill.    i did not leave her ALL day.  at all.   Once we got her out in the morning,  we just stayed there until Alyssia came again to get her in.  She's 80 + pounds.     i could go on with details but there's no point.  Things are not good.   i can't imagine life here without her.  

i'll just add anything in the comment box if there's something different.   Otherwise……

    A towel or a piece of fabric wrapped as a sling around her belly can be used to help her stand up and to help her walk and save her energy. Ishvan was very upset when he couldn’t standup but was much relieved when I could stand him up like that. I did the same with him as you are doing with Tay. The first time this happened he had Lyme disease. He recovered with antibiotics. I’m assuming the vet ruled out things like that. When Ishvan got constipated I put Sloppy Joe sauce on his food and that helped. It also encouraged him to keep eating and drinking. I love you Grace and I love you Tay. I wish I could do more to help.

    Partnership is such a gift.. it gives so much to our lives..and there is nothing more real or true than your words..I cannot imagine life here without her.. Love….I am so glad for her that you are with her..and as hard impossibly hard as it is..glad for you as well..Presence.. wishing I had such good and concrete words that jaime sent .. but in any case..oh wishing you the most gentle day possible..much love

    It is easy to say her spirit will be with with you always but in this moment, those words of comfort may not do justice to her, but my deepest hope is that they will when it comes to pass. For now, she is with you and you are with her and it holds, this center of love and partnership, this sister of your soul. Say her name, TAY.
    As you know I am reading a book by Dr. Sharon Blackie; the book If Women Rose Rooted, is filled with Celtic myths along with the reality of woman from times long ago to present day. As often happens, I extend my research and learned that in Celtic myths, Dogs were an important and integral part of the story.They were companions and guardians to Kings, warriors and goddesses and were known for their healing capabilities, etc.
    In response to my reading, I created a cloth of my dyed scraps because the feeling to do so, was so strong;, a tangible representative response to ancient and present day words. I created this cloth to signify my emotions on reading one of the myths, of the elder women and maidens, who were the keepers of the well for water is the giver of life. To me, Tay is the keeper and guardian of the Hill so I say her name and yesterday morning, I stitched her name onto this cloth, beneath the rusty scrap that holds a woman’s face.
    Say her name, TAY, for she is a guardian, a companion, a partner, she is simply love and love is her and you are hers and she is yours and nothing will ever change that…

    Riley has been gone for so long now but is still here with me…..Yes, the towel will be a great help in getting Tay up. And I fed Riley anything he would eat….very fragrant things……but once he stopped I just sat with him and then we took him to the Vet for his last shot……..I had to decide that…my husband and daughter refused to let him go……a friend mentioned they had called a traveling Vet for their dog Liberty’s last shot so it could be at home. My eyes are pretty wet as I type this……Love to you all.

    more water and pumpkin will assist and the towel trick posted above by jaime. walks may be hard but that will help especially if you can use the towel trick
    my dog experienced vertigo so have had to do similar actions with him.

    Last year I grieved the loss of our cat; yes, we do know when it is “time.” Mittens was hardly eating but she would sip cold ice water and a little warm broth,that phase lasting a while. When she sought a new spot under a shelf one night, I knew tomorrow was the day to take her. Still and all I grieved and cried for weeks. LOVE TAY. LOVE YOU. LOVE HILL.

    yes, we are using a piece of Deb Lacativa’s damask as a belly sling. When we walk to try to pee. Alyssia holds
    that, i, her collar. it takes two of us to keep her
    upright.
    The BIG thing is to get her in and out of this tin house.
    She cannot do the step. I cannot do it for her. Takes
    Alyssia to carry her. Alyssia with all her physical challenges and twice a day…morning evening. Can’t be
    forever that
    she looked as if she was trying to “assume the position” to
    shit yesterday, but she fell over. didn’t try again.

    tomorrow a mobile vet will come. She is the first vet we
    had here…for Cinderella and Just Going when their time
    had come
    we called her for Sunny Ray but she said she no longer does
    regular vet care is now focused on palliative care.
    we called this morning. A Doula. she will arrive tomorrow morning. we have many questions.
