twilight. Talkie goes to bed. Same. Every day. as she goes, slowly up the branches, one to another, she talks to herself, a long conversation of things, once she's there, on her twig, she stops. Silent till morning. to repeat another and another and another day.

What a great bedtime story tis is…like a children’s book!
I can only wish that my own routines were so stable and healthy. I guess Talkie doesn’t have insomnia!
(((hugs))) to you all for another day, and another and another…LikeLike

she does not. even through all that “weather”, the winter rain, the atmospheric rivers, she chose her twig. and slept.

I agree with Nancy. I can see it in my mind. A picture book. Drawing could be, IS as good as a movie.
Talkie Goes to Bed.
p.1: “Every day.” (picture of her twig)
pp.2-3: “as she goes, slowly up the branches,” (pic of whole tree
with Talkie at the bottom)
p.4: “one to another,” (Talkie on first branch)
p.5: “she talks to herself,” [Talkie up another branch(which one
depends on how many total)]
p.6: “a long conversation of things,” (Closeup of Talkie with
something to indicate her conversation)
p.7: “once she’s there, on her twig, she stops.” (Talkie on her twig)
p.8: “Silent till morning.” (Talkie, sleeping)
last page: “to repeat another and another and another day.” (?? a
double spread with p. 8, or something to indicate
‘another and another and another day.’)
Voilà!
This made me think about me writing a novella after my beloved Rani died. (Not for children, full of death, but a happy ending.)
Wow! Emptiness becoming openness. It is so freeing.LikeLike

Page 1 could also be simply a setting sun. And then a moon on page 9.
