I LOVE Spanish lavender. I think the hummingbirds love them, too. My patch was crowded out by St. John’s Wart, but once I get that, and the multitude of walnut trees the squirrels planted, pulled out, I will replant. I also have some English or French lavender, but the fragrance of the Spanish lasts much better in sachets, etc.
I caught up here today. 9) Loved seeing your photo! 12a) You’re feeding the earth well to find worms where there were none before. 12b) Silly Jack Flash! 13) Finding your carnelian is a good sign. 14) Will you swing, or is it just for Emrie? 15) I often wonder who am I. Today my answer is that life is always all change, so maybe if I’m not changing, I’m not living. 16) My mom bought grow bags and then never used them. I may–because the blacktop driveway (that we don’t use as one) is the sunniest part of the yard. That’s where my rosebushes are (in big pots). The veggie garden is not as sunny as it was when first dug. 17) I agree with you and Jude about dirt. And science has proved it’s also good for us! Healthful organisms we breathe in with that wonderful smell.
Yesterday (18th) was my mom’s 102 birthday. Hard to believe she’s been gone almost 9 years already. Watching that Ruth Stout video made me think about her. She used a lot of Stout’s ideas in her own gardening. (I need to see if I still have that book.)LikeLike
