the far edge of the Tomatoe bed….what i now and again thought looked like a potatoe leaf last season…..running my hands through the soil  today to see how it might work for the artichoke start….lo and behold.   My grocery list this week includes fresh Snapper filet.   pan fried then with   of all things    my beloved Elote  sauce and now these…..

both Emrie and Brinley came today to     work in the Garden.    they said.       and we did.    Alyssia sat back and all manner of things went on.    The most significant of which was FINALLY repotting the Aloe.   Pics tomorrow?    The goings on in that pot is hard to believe.  i have no words to describe.   and how it goes for everyone who belongs to an Aloe,     we will end up with maybe 12?   They named the Mother,  Vera    and her really, adult,  child  ,    Lila.    Vera has a bloom coming.   i think not a time to repot?,   but

Potatoes in the garden are so great. I just dug my last harvest out last week. I’m sure there are some that I missed. Amazing how they stay fresh in the ground (mostly). I have too much Aloe to take care of, going to have to repot some and give it away.

there’s nothing better than fresh-dug potatoes … but even so, better yet with snapper …

Wow. Wish my aloe was as happy as yours. I’ve never had one that multiplied.

What a find! Dinner sounds delish! In regards to yesterday’s post, I think a weed is a wildflower in a place it isn’t wanted…
What is the age difference between the two girls? Gardening, such a meaningful way to spend any part of any day.. such a sweet picture your words conjure!

both are 5. Emrie will be 6 in July, Brinley in October.
once again….When Brinley’s mother T died, she and her father,
who is Alyssia’s brother who is my grandson who is my daughter
    Jenny’s son
moved in to Alyssia’s house. and there is Jax, or Fate, who grandson shares custody with his mother…4 days a week.
no one “asked” Alyssia, it just was what was needed.
So…Brinley has a lot on her plate. A mother who died when she
was almost 4 and most likely a lot of ADD as well as just her
    quirky Self
she and Emrie are so inately different, cousins, like sisters now
for me….it is complex. i know that anything Brinley “gets” is so needed. But my allegiance is to Emrie. It was a BIG DEAL
day…it’s “Emrie’s” space. Which she wants to share…sorta. Some.
but wants it as her space. that she shares. some times. sorta.
Yesterday we tried. we will continue trying. Finding out how it can go.
Jenny, the nana, is very good at EQUAL. and i am the OLD nana.

I get it! Good explanation! Equal, a hard concept. I have 4 sisters, two older, two younger…. Very separate personalities,, no harsh realities as these two have encountered, but sibling rivalries grew some of us closer and some still not.
