Is this catsear? I don’t think I’ve ever seen them, based on a picture of their leaves. At least, not when I was actually looking at the little yellow flowers that grow everywhere. KQED has an interesting article on them compared to dandelions. I can’t yet figure out which ones are our (sort of) look-alikes.
Distraction could be my middle (or first!) name, but I have just learned a lot about dandelion and dandelion-like “weeds” and good reasons to grow them, and then about bees!
