the Malibar,   self sown   abundance   and  joy Full ,  vining UP and UP and i SEEEEE the vines,  every day,  More and  extending

squat and just look….their Beauty and Glory

and this was enough,   but then this eve,    a pic on Message….from my son's woman….mother to their child, my Colorado granddaughter  Giana,  9 years   her….on the stairwell of their home

with a cello

her hands hold the bow….rest on the body of  the cello….perfectly,    even tho i know so little,  i can see this,  know it to be true

learn that she had resisted,   but then,   was able to try instruments….her school offers this….and she wants to try

cello

and totally amazing to me….i find self  saying….if she continues…..if she has interest……i  too

want to learn.

!!!???

just to make a sound.     cello is the language of Orca,   of plants,   of wind and sunlit days,   of deep rain days    of  Joy   of Grief

how amazing….how much a surprise….    I would learn.    learn to make just even ONE sound with cello

To me, this “chapter” is actually two virtual feasts for all of the senses!
You speak of the cello – song of the Orcas. Just yesterday I was pondering whales and orcas and listening to Yo-Yo Ma playing “Going Home” (link https://tinyurl.com/3mnbmum4) and a wonderful article on Classic FM: “These whales responded to a cello being played” ~ to me it is absolutely and incredibly beautiful (linkhttps://tinyurl.com/28fxw8zx). Thank you Grace for your poignant ode to Cello’s language and songs.
I’m fairly certain that you could find a place where you are, to experience playing a cello for the first time ~ playing a string instrument is a whole body/mind experience. Oh I would so love for you to get this experience!
The photo of the Malabar spinach here ~ the “picture” of your granddaughter which is here with your description ~ extraordinary to experience from here.

CA to Colorado, the vines of family, love and anticipation; of music and adventure that comes from a not so ordinary choice for a 9 yr old girl. This is not at all surprising thought because Giana is your granddaughter. In her cells, the willingness to expand, to take on a challenge, to learn and do the unexpected. For me, there is such joy in reading of Giana and her cello. In my minds eye, if this interest holds, I see her coming to CA for a visit, with her cello and she plays, and you watch…then she hands the bow to you and the “dance” begins…
