This gnarly being, the oh so textured bark that I want to run my hands over and think of recreating it in cloth. Just to be able to sit down on the ground on your land, breathe in and out, close my eyes, smell bark scent, wild grass and wildflower scent, what a pleasure that would be.
I think of the first time that I saw and smelled the scent of eucalyptus trees and it too is a memory of Big Sur: First year in college, spring break, I went with a group to Big Sur. The trip left such an impression on me for many reasons none the least of which was the glorious first time of seeing and smelling eucalyptus trees. Big Sur, a place that for me, holds freewheeling vistas and spirit and as many times as we went there when we lived in CA, that special feeling of a wondrous place has never left. I often feel that a big part of that wonder has to do with those trees.LikeLike

The shovel head looks defeated compared to the majestic trunk. Trees are so amazing.
