both the button bush and the butterfly.  unfazed

it's been since the evacuation that i've left the Hill.   and in that short/long time,  the Button Bush has

bloomed.,

after having been reduced to stubs by the powers that be,    has regrown and today i saw…..not just that,  but  BLOOMING

and

this butterfly.    I've never seen a torn winged Butterfly before…that hindwing almost gone.   But it went.  Button to button,   as if nothing was different at all?????????????

As in nature we all learn to live our lives with broken wings .. sometimes visible sometimes not!

The butterfly is a tiger swallowtail. I sometimes see one with a damaged wing but never one this drastic. Isn’t that lovely that it still has the ability to carry on? The impulse to live is so strong in all of us.

When I was young my dad, on his way home from work, found a bat at the side of the road. He brought it home and splinted its broken wing. We kept it in a large birdcage in the family room, until it healed. I’m glad the butterfly gets around well.

here you are, telling of your Dad a kind and gentle man
    who Cared
this issue of Nat’l Geo features Bats. They truly ARE
