the butterfly,   from a long time ago.   Colored Pencil.    it took a lot of time.  Slow time.    Thinking today how we have come to accept that things need to be fast.   as  example,     needing to abbreviate even a word….merchandise is   merch.    Three syllables are too much.

Such a beautiful butterfly and nice pairing.
    Love builds…
I while back, over a year? I made the decision to fully write out the word “okay”. I don’t remember why, perhaps just to see how it would feel, or if I could. I have. Even in notes to myself…okay. And I think about how that feels different.
    Yeah, I’m strange 😉
I know someone who’s name was reduced to his first/middle name initials…which then became the first letter of his first name. He became one letter.

Your title, the answer depends: two ways of looking at how long does love take as in how long before love is realized or how long does it last; depends on circumstances. Love is not a word I use easily and when I do, it is because it holds, is everlasting, part of my heart and soul, lodged deeply in my blood stream, my memory. Love, for me, isn’t just about people or pets, it is about what moves me in a way that connects: Music and dance come so readily to mind here, places do as well and yesterday and today, especially, my love for Maui is forefront. One of the tourist slogans for Maui, from long ago, is “Come to Maui where the Aloha is everlasting.” Among the many definitions of Aloha is simply, the word love. I visited Maui many times and it was a lighthearted love. When I lived there, came to know and connect with some in the community where we lived, it grew into the full sense of my definition of love…

For me, seeing this photo, my mind “sees” many pictures. It captures a moment, made up of many moments. Awesome! Pursuing what’s behind the phrase “a picture is worth a thousand words” can be a bit of a sink-hole, but I’m sticking with my first response to this stellar photograph and your post. Marvelous ~ love it. A still, cool, clear and refreshing moment during high heat and wildfire smoke. Thank you!
many “nods” to Nancy and Marti ~ foreshortening of words and language can leave a lot of information out…

As Jude stitched into her pennant for the dream ‘love takes time’ but time is a funny thing, it stretches and envelops and develops and unravels and breaks and mends and really what else is there? I still dream of a world where love is the answer…
