Beth asks about this little pouch.    Liz made it.

an oh so soft moss grey green botanically marked thin thin silk.  The inside a mushroom ivory.  The sewing,  impeccable,  exquisite,  SO delicate     The tiny things you see as beads, Beth….are just the tiniest of stitches…I can easily imagine it in a glass display case in a museum .  really.    But it lives here,  among all these other things.   It's contents change now and then.  It holds very private thoughts and feelings,  loves,    sometimes I ask it to hold a fear

Maybe Liz can tell us more.

Oh! Thank you so much for taking the time to answer. And from Liz, how special in connection. It does look incredibly soft and makes for such a tender little vessel. Your second photo looks like a delicate sea creature opening. I’m so happy to know this.

A gathering and an unfurling; how this delicate, lovely pourch holds and stays open for what goes inside, keeper of the inner you. Liz’s work is so tactile yet ethereal…as you said, exquisite.

Ahhh … a pause in pie crust and cranberry sauce making … to come here and find this … I am thankful knowing that moments spent stitching have come down through the years to find us all together, still connected
Happy Thanksgiving to you Grace … and to all who gather here … please know that the things we make and share with each other are precious … whether they be food for a family feast, cloth to have and to hold, or maybe most of all, the words and images that give it all meaning
    peace and love … Liz

Grace, this is such an organic, tactile object! It looks like the incredibly delicate mushrooms that magically appear in my woods just now, but it also holds the lineage of cloth making and sewing and the energy of Liz’s hands and mind, holding your thoughts, loves and fears. What a bounty.
