she begins with her front feet which she knows she is not supposed to do and i say no,  down but she can't help herself and she inches up until she is completely on my lap      the fireworks are in the distance but to her an imminent threat and she presses herself into me.

we stay like this a long time.

    Grace~ I can feel the fear? the apprehension in her eyes. Hopefully it calmed down in a short amount of time. It was much quieter here than the 4th of July, when it’s nuts for days.
    May this year calm down.

    every year I say “seriously? why???” as the fireworks go off long past a reasonable hour (although no hour is reasonable really)
