last night a storm.  INTENSE,  FIERCE  with Lightning and Thunder…everything trembled.
This morning,   a soft serene glow,  probably  a  last burst of moss and lichen of this year…

Earth loves its Self

This month of March when my thoughts are turned to Ireland, I come here, fall into your green and close my eyes and am back in the land of mist and myth. But then I wondered what kind of oak trees in Ireland? “There are two native oak trees in Ireland: sessile oak and common oak. Both oak trees are very alike. You need to look at the acorns to tell them apart. The acorns on the sessile oak don’t have any stalks….Ancient Celts believed that The oak tree and the hazel tree were symbols of knowledge. The Celts also believed that doors that were made of oak wood would ward off evil spirits.”

Grace , i have a strong suspicion that the big trees on this mountain start deep in the earth , if i look at the trunk and the side branch, that the hill is a raised ground /earth and thas is how the mountain was formed , is this possible ? are there more Big trees like this one ?
do you, the family , know the history of this hill ?

When I lived in California, briefly, years ago, I was amazed by the spring greenness, how early it came and how quickly it transformed into a golden or brown dryness. This photo shows it very well.
