    the size of pineapples.
    the pinenut inside each of the pieces of shell is food…can be roasted, ground for flour. those shell shapes make beads…can send you some if you’d like them? they’re like little boats. they fall year round as the squirrels harvest them. am amazed that none have hurt us. they’re heavy.

    Actually have some. Picked them on a drive in that part of the world a million years ago šŸ˜‰.
    I was amazed then and still am. Keep them in a basket where they bring me joy every time I look at them.
    So food for the goats.
    Thank you for sharing the photo. And the information. Did not know where those pine nuts I used in the basil pesto I used to make came from .
    Now I know. šŸ˜‰
