from a thrift shop, years and years ago. history unknown. it's surprising how little there is "out there" about the creation and lives of baskets. maybe i just don't know how to look?, will keep trying

Charming Grace. Years back, when I went to a Weaving Convention with a friend, one of my most favorite things was the amazing variety of woven art baskets.
I have a little, tightly woven, roundish one similar to yours…I know where it came from (The Rose Bowl Swap Meet, years ago), but not much about the maker. Mmm?LikeLike

Sorry grace but I don’t think these links will be helpful because I took some time and looked at them, after I sent them, and did not see any baskets that resembled yours. Also, I did not know if you got it in CA or New Mexico…you probably can find info on Youtube, I don’t go there all that often

Marti…Wow, so much history out there! You inspired me to do an “image search”…The distinct shape of Grace’s basket came up with words like ‘pumpkin basket’, ‘Potpourri Hanging Basket’, ‘cricket basket’ and different Native Tribes handmade baskets. Very cool to look at all of them. 😁
