A lot of camels look (and apparently often are) quite grumpy. These two in front look happy and friendly.

But, honestly, all I could think of when I saw this was the story I’d heard about “20 Camels Booted from Beauty Contest for Using Injectables in Hump Inflation Cheating Scandal”. I mean WTH??

It’s astonishing to encounter a large animal in the wild. Years ago I was stuck in slow moving traffic when a moose stepped out of the woods not 20 yards from the roadway. It stood there chewing its cud like a cow, but enormous. I imagine if no one captured these camels, they would wild quite easily. There are over a million feral camels in Australia!
