“In which the author positions himself

I have spent more than a half century as an activist for Earth and for sustainable human habitation of our home.  My education has been as broad as i could make it for I had a feeling, even at the beginning, that only a holistic, multidisciplinary training could possibly give me the foundation necessary to do the work that I felt called to do.  I had no idea, as none of us do,  of what I was getting myself into.  I suppose if any of us did,  none of us would ever do anything.

My education, and the real world training it demanded, ha s involved decades of study and experiential exploration in fields as diverse as tree ecology and communication,  contemplative spirituality,  plant movement patterns and function in ecological space,  human psychology, Gaian emergence and behavior, death and dying,  indigenous land relationships, a wide range of psychotherapeutic techniques (including years of my own psychotherapy and work as a psychotherapist),  the function of plant chemicals in ecological homeodynamis, animism, decades of work and training in rehabilitating broken homes,  the nature of language, and meaning,  the art of storytelling,  symbiotic relationships in eclogical systems,  the long term history of widely divergent human cultures”  ….. and it continues, 3 times more

I cannot put it all here,  the Goats need to be fed

is foundational to my work. Long before I sought out those seperate disciplines, spent half a century learning what they had to teach me, something powerful enough to send me on such a journey was already at work within me. And that is a…. Feeling…thing, not a thinking thing. It is love and caring.”
