it wants to go further.   to Continue.      Ok,  but i don't know how.

today was a tangle of so many things.   There was the Post Office.   mail.     The grocery store.    The parking lot of the grocery store.    Driving to Alyssia's,   the foot traffic along the way…meaning street people.   the quiet soft time AT Alyssia's because Jeff and Brinley were gone to Sacramento to help with Casey.    Emrie swang.   Alyssia pushed her.   Back.  Forth.  Back Forth  Back Forth      The mail man came with mail for me,  a Surprise.    The drive home,  so many,  so so many fruit and nut trees bursting into bloom,  more foot traffic      and it was a swoon.   Like falling into a spell of Love.   I felt love.  in the store,   the parking lot,  the drive,  for the mailman for the people that walked up and down Mill street as i watched Emrie swing,    back    forth   back and   forth.

every time i thought it was the moment to go DO something…i just didn't.   I  searched the small fragment bag and brought out pieces that i just moved around.   Slowly.   Moving them.   Watching how i felt as they moved.

and moved them more.   Until it felt like a Temple.   Those words just came.   This feels like a Temple.   no more,  that was it.

Deb Lacativa's damask  is mind altering,  mood altering,  magic.   It creates its own ambience and you are drawn in.  to make what you will of it.

the day,  after the last stellar ones,  was windy.   great grey  clouds floating over and past the Sun.    Moody.   The pieces of cloth spoke to that.    and told me     it all is a Temple.

more of the same.   There are 8 containers filled of mix soil and this manure/straw.    Snap peas.   We are all big on stir fry.   3 of the containers have been growing for a while.  Blossoms really coming on.

i opened the packet,  held to my hand and

    these

my heart skipped a beat.   I hadn't felt the pkt….was not expecting these so large and so elegant in their delicate wrappings,  tissue thin but totally perfectly in tact.     The size of a large garden pea.   Dwarf Moringa.    Perennial.   I don't even know what to say.  They are otherworldly.

B Garden Gate.      AND!!!!!  i remembered Hugelkultur!!!!!!   Wikipedia has a nice little picture.    at end of summer,  i'll begin building atop the faux raised bed.   PERFECT!   It can  work itsSelf all through Winter Rain.   This is so Exciting!     Tomorrow i'll look.  It's possible there is enough levelish space  behind the Scrub Oak in front of the grow baskets  at the front of the house frame.   Maybe?   I feel like taking the flash light and going to look now.

    Maria…where Are you?

the most devoted….that was Humor.   me,  laughing with myself.    I know.   I KNOW that each of ALL of US,  the hundreds of us are the Best.    When i said the most ……devoted…..i meant that i have gone to Spirit Cloth every day,  looking,  learning,  finding.  Every Day.  for all these years.  Often more than once.  Twice.

for me,  the interior me,  the True Self,   all i need is Earth and Sky.   Graphite and Cloth.   I had always loved drawing.    Didn't know how to let graphite be alive.   Kay Gould Caskey taught me.     I had always loved old cloth.  Didn't know you could make pictures with it.   Jude Hill taught me.    My life's JOY is through them.   I am forever,  truly,  forever devoted.

the above is more Joy.   That Baker Creek Seed Catalog….a wonder unto its own self.    It's incredibly BeautyFull,  the photographs,   the plants themselves,  the arrangement of food and flowers intermingled.   Their Love of what they do so THERE on each page.   If i could make an I love You card for Jude and Kay,  it would look like the Baker Creek Seed Catalog.

i was in the middle of an email to marti and flipped over to google Hispi cabbage on the Phone….and Lo and Behold….what pic pops up?,  but from Baker Creek…..Hispi cabbage,  as my wonderFULL  Farmer's Market guy calls it.   Hispi cabbage is also  formally known as   Early Jersey Wakefield Cabbage!!!!!!!!!!!!  and Baker Creek has it.    So although my seed order had arrived,  i ordered 2 pkts of Hispi and also this Hopi Sunflower  AND the Winged Bean that i had though so amazing but also an extravagance and didn't order.   And by this,   i see that it is true.   I have changed over this year.   I am truly just going.    Last garden year was a lot of Fail.  The Heat…110 too many days…that and what i think might have been all i have to give to Fire Fear.   As i was preparing the soil to plant the Peas,   i found self thinking to just Go.   Plant everything.   It's actually warm enough and tho it doesn't follow any traditional suggestions…Why Not?    There are always more seeds than i have room for.  Just plant.   Let it all be….What If.     Another thing Jude has encouraged in me,  my What Ifness.

It was an extremely BeautyFull Day.

i had cut the Wall Cloth a few days ago.   To accommodate Old Oak.  But also to allow air flow.  its warming up.   Was 79 yesterday.  it won't stay that way,  will be low 60s again for a while,  but we're moving along.      And…..i like this.  She can be Together.

    20220210_150659

i thought….Why Not?    it turned out to be many things.   i connected the pieces by taking two stitches at various points that would hold one to the next….just cutting the thread  to let it dangle.   Easy to take apart.   And almost immediately it was a lesson about Ecstasy.   You can't  HOLD it.   Not its nature,  to be held in place.   I kept referring to the photograph to make sure i was keeping each fragment where it originally was and it kept changing.  Not a lot,  sometimes almost imperceptibly.   But even that,      changed it.   So i just kept trying.  Over and over.   twice i thought it was secure and twice i lifted it and  pieces flopped down or off entirely.  Once i gave up and let it change,  it was better.  Not Ecstasy,  but enough.   A couple times during the 3 hours of this,   i went to Jude's latest post,  rereading,  thinking,  reading all the comments.  Thinking.   And all of a sudden,  it hit me and i laughed.    I think i could say that i might be Jude Hill's most devoted student.   Or at least a front runner,  but i think  most devoted would  be me.  Maybe Hazel.     Anyway…..there she is.   Taking such INCREDIBLE CARE to create  a Forever with EveryThing……….ALL.    ALL  she has taught.   For me…over 10 years of receiving.    And here i am.     This is the fruit of her labor as a Teacher….her most devoted student….obsessing    over  primitively tacking scraps.   that will be taken apart.   Oh Jeez, grace.     My friend used to say….you're a piece of work.

    the larger scraps

    20220209_161725

and then…the small.   I love this moment.  When i don't know what to do.   So i look.  I love them each,  but together like this,  they are ecstatic.

if i had walls,   this might get basted together…hang there,   just as is.

about 2 minutes here.   but then,  town day.   not my favorite.  Part of it was also that i'd never brought the laundry in.  Was still all draped over the seats  and piled in bags where the groceries needed  to go.    The feed store had tiny tiny bead eyed chicks.   Puppy would hunt them.    and maybe Talkie too.

Emrie wearing chain saw goggles on the big one.  This is the big meadow next to A.   Along Carefree Way.  Alyssia wants a donkey.   We would have to seed this area.

it's  yardglider.com.   I was surprised they are so expensive,  wouldn't have guessed,  but they are well worth it.   With the little one i can do things that otherwise would be impossible.  I'm little and skinny.  I can pull  things up and down hill,  over really rough terrain.   Wood,  rocks,  bales of feed,  piles or buckets of compost/manure,  plants in landscape tubs,  lumber,  big bales of garden soil.   I don't know which weight ours are…my guess the lighter one?   I'll ask.  She was still at work.  Some Things just make things Possible.  I have learned to really appreciate that.  Worth saving up.  i think they will last forever.

    20220207_162521

looking for what could be next.   dumping the bags,  looking for what appeals.  They need to be washed,   have been associating in their bags all winter.  Hang on Clothline in SUN.  Just to touch them was good.  This is from 3 bags.  there are what,  10 more?

so…why the FAUX of raised bed….it's just surface and probably about 4 inches atop cardboard that is almost  100 percent decomposed from all that rain…the roots of things will have this rich soil held in place with the cut branch pieces.    Part of me is a gardner,  part is about aesthetics…i didn't want it square.  like with boards.  I like it this way.  the roots will find their way through all the  stone and rock.  Slowly it will Become.

    20220206_123154

i brought my wheelbarrow from N Mex.  then,  Jenny has this one and another similar but larger….neither of those can be used, the slope of the Hill too steep to control the momentum.   This is my little sled.   The one they were using yesterday is about 3 times as big.   It looks like nothing.   But it's a miracle.  Pulls like butter under a lot of weight…keeps steady balance.  the side slits can make use  of bungies…like over piles of stuff…otherwise for a heavy pile of composted Goat shit and hay,  doesn't need anything.  They slip over all the uneven terrain,  over those huge pinecones,  rocks…easy peasy.   I want to send a review to the company.  Truly Excellent.  Efficient.  Tough.  You'd never guess just by looking.
