oh my gosh grace… a tour de force. makes my little bit of stitching … that took me hours… seem so minor… not for me though… it was huge! ill post it tomorrow after im finished… and yes… why is it we do this? at least yours shows from across the room! but its putting our own mark on it. we humans mark things that are important.

Quite beautiful.. and labor intensive, it seems… And, I KNOW that look! Once, while painting on a ledge on the side of a goat path, a shepherd stopped. He looked at my sketchbook, then at the view, then back at the sketchbook with that difficult to describe look, smiled politely, and clicked at the goats to continue scrambling up the cobbles…!

Im remembering a comment from a coworker who couldnt understand why I could do something over and over (I forget what project I was working on during a lunch break). Its mediation and making peace, at least for me.

The kantha stitch has movement, like a soft breeze moving the cloth. Can see how doing this stitch weaves a meditative spell over you. Each stitch, a breath, each row a quiet energy.
