re: a conversation going on over at Spirit Cloth.

living alone and rarely having company,  how i use personal space isn't much of an issue.  if someone IS coming here,  i "neaten" up the Room.  the only time really beside that that it doesn't look pretty much like the pic here is at the end of a cloth.  when that particular story is complete or complete enough.  i will put everything back.  dust.  disrupt that spider web and,  it's neat.  but as Jude said,       there's also a clear feeling of        Nothing going on.          until it all begins again.

the pics are: 3 of the bedroom.  last summer,  i enlisted the help of the neighbor kid to help me haul out the huge dresser with huge mirror that took up literally 1/3 of the very small bedroom.  i replaced it with those metal utility shelves.  i brought in all the cloth that i had in bins out in the shed and placed them on those shelves.  my personal wearable clothing consists of levis and shirts, T or otherwise and take up ONE single lower bottom shelf.  the TV takes up a lot of space.  it hasn't been used for 6 years, but because of reasonable reason, i don't get rid of it.  i should put it out in the shed tho.  anyway….it's a SMALL room.  i guess…well let me go measure…….8ftX12ft.  so there is the bed and those two shelves.  i have recently begun to roll pieces and tie them to see if that helps.

the next 3 pics are of the ROOM where i work which also is where the Eating table is.  this room i guess explains itself.  everything in here is about cloth or some art materials of some sort.   mostly cloth.

this is it.  just thought i would offer it as We all contemplate             studio space.

Grace- I really like your writing style (as well as what you have to say). I always notice how the capitol letters fall in unusual or maybe important places (my mother was an English teacher!). And when I see that I am always taken back to the Winnie-the-Pooh books that so captivated me as a young child (and as an adult too!) But above when you capitalized Room…I thought instantly of the novel by the same title.
    Here is the link: http://www.amazon.com/Room-Novel-Emma-Donoghue/dp/0316098329/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1308461674&sr=8-1
It has been a book I will not forget.
As for your space…that is so fun to see. I have too much mess right now to be able to function well. But that will change…soon! Thank you for sharing so much of yourself with your readers. Keeps it all so real…so real Grace. 🙂

the rooms of a creative spirit. Love being able to see your workspace. This is a great place to give room to your art process. I’m still struggling with finding a place. I’m in the attic now, as you probably now, but… it doesn’t seem to work…I’m thinking of getting rid of one of my cupboards downstairs, so that I have wall space to hang my cloth on, or to make large drawings on….but where will I leave all my cups, plates etc. that are in this cupboard…..;)

yes…i loved that pic on your blog a while ago of your
    space
well…i don’t know who shares your home. that has to
come into consideration but if it’s just you,
i guess that would be an easy switch for me…
all my life i wanted my Whole Living Space to be about
Making. i was 43 give or take (Dru and Cindy) when i went to
extreme changes to allow that to happen. then… i gave
it all away to learn something and now it’s back, and
    who knows
but if you can, i would really “eye” those cups and plates

yes…by now you see her picture, and there are four dogs
well, one real dog and then 3 chihuahua/terrier that
belonged to that person i was married to…there is
a lot of ambivilence with them…a chunk of my life is
spent keeping them safe from marauding strays…they make
no effort at that themselves, throwing themselves in harms way at every opportunity AND they bark bark bark, tear at
breakneck speed in and out of the dog door. it’s a mother (pound dog) and her two now adult children; daughter and
autistic son. she is OLD but spry, the children are i
    guess going on 10. jeez.

can’t seem to reply on the reply link…weird… when d is gone, i spend the first night missing him then i get used to all the extra space. but grace…yes i do love to cuddle… ! we usually sleep like two old dogs right up against each other but maybe its because i am gemini… i also love space in the bed from time to time…

i know, i was just giving you a hard time.
i used to think it was wierd when couples slept in
separate beds. thought they were just too old to
appreciate the “heat”, but now you could not pay me
any amount of money to share a bed. plus, it might
be fun to have someone “visit” private space…they
might feel like they might want to be creative….
    oh, the thoughts that arise
