    Aw, Grace, this is awesome. Do you remember one day you said here “what if all I had was a needle and thread”; I must think about that every other day. Yesterday riding my bike to work I rode over a piece of twine and thought “that could be couched under cloth to make a shape”- I couldn’t stop to pick it up because it was in a busy intersection- but it made me remember your question, “what if all I had was a needle and thread”. I really feel all that your question means to me when I see this cloth Grace.

    Wendy..i do. i remember and think about it too. i smile
    at your street twine…
    the other day, flying into town on the freeway, at the
    side of the road was a rag……ooooooo so i pulled over
    and walked back to where i thought i’d seen it but then
    3 giant semi’s came and the slipstream disappeared it.
    i still watch for it, just in case.
    i just went to your blog to look for the Bengali envelope
    and was stunned by the PLEASURE of going through all your
    archives at once. i just LOVE how you make things. so much.
    and where did your old posts go?

    i did. i began it for Spirit Cloth workshop. it went
    through a lot of changes, not the Raven itself, but the
    cloth it was on. went through contemporary woven boro
    and then went back to even less than the beginning.
    i love him. love his mirror. do you see that he has
    wrapped one of his legs with Jude’s magic thread?

    i remember way back when you discovered jude and you knew that you wanted to change from doll/being making. and now just look. i mean really look. is this just stunning? in a way that you dreamt of? maybe even more. i have been on a journey with you …. just by watching you progress with this through your blog. thanks for sharing that. congratulations.
    now are all the pieces there? or will you add more as time goes on?

    it’s a perfect way of sharing, for me. i can keep track of myself
    and at the same time it feels like it deepens the connection with
    the Community. it’s good.
    yes. soon it will be two years since i dared put my first comment
    on Spirit Cloth.
    no….this is just what i knew from the beginning i wanted here.
    some pieces that could go nowhere else, but …. oh….!…..
    “wanted community”… that’s interesting… ~
    i have no idea how it will go, but there will be much more. the
    ground probably won’t be completely covered…again, i’ve done it;
    am using a cloth that i LOVE and couldn’t bear to cover up…
    am beginning to think of very small mosaic pieces. like really small. postage stamp or smaller. and there is a persistent image
    of a sunflower. but this is LARGE…up on the upper top right of
    Deb’s panel. ???????????? and i look a lot at that Universe cloth
    i made with Deb’s cloth too, at those lines that are just stitch.
    so, lots more. and then there’s always the
    other side.

    I cannot stop looking at it. At the moment I´m in the north of italy and I see all your colors just in front of my window a blue-grey lake, blue sky and houses in warm colors white boats and so on. I was absorbing these colors the whole day and they made me very calm inside. Now in the evening I look at your cloth and I´ve got the same feeling..
    but beside my personal experience now I always think that you can produce feelings with your work

    well…it is great thanks to you. the one i used is the
    other side, but it is so perfect for that part of the cloth. it’s a magic flower.
    i love looking at your WHOLE cloth on SEW. you truly
