"The  natural law and order of this world is not "for" or "against".  Fundamentally, there is nothing that either threatens us or promotes our point of view.  The four seasons occur free from anyone's demand or vote.  Hope and fear cannot alter the seasons.  There is day and night.  There is darkness at night and light during the day, and no one has to turn a switch on and off.  There is a natural order that allows us to survive and that is basically good, good in that it is there and it works and it is efficient."        Chogyam Trungpa    Shambala   the Sacred Path of the Warrior

here they are at the end of the day.  dry.

perfect sunflower. what is that tree behind the fabric, it has what look like pine cones but they can’t be. must be some kind of pods… can you dye with them?

That there are things in this world that just are what they are…no choices to be made. Lots of peace in that. Your sunflower is beautiful, the fabric full of richness…

those are the wild sunflowers. i don’t think i could
use them for dye. the finches are still taking seeds
    from them.

i think that’s why i so much like seeing it all here in
pics…..in person, it is repetative. it is so OPEN
    and so expansive.

yes…they do look like feather petals and i kept seeing
that as i was putting them down, and thought…a sunflower
isn’t really like this, but then kept thinking yes, but
it’s how they FEEL to me, especially the zulus, just
so full of life…and then i wanted that eggplant cloth
    there too
so i just kept going. i think it might quiet down a little
    when there is stitching, later.
but also what is great is that i didn’t let all these
details keep me from just going forward with it. in the
past, i would have needed to be more literal. this allowed me to just see what happened. it’s an important
step for me. so, even if i would not do it exactly that
way on an individual cloth, it will be good to always be
able to see it on this Diaries cloth….and this is where
i wanted to go with it all.

am working with that thought a lot. rather than preoccupy with my own personal stuff, just begin the day with the
question of how i can add to that basic goodness. which
often might just being pretty neutral with everything, just watching it with a soft gaze. not having an opinion or need at all. and there IS peace in that.
the fabric again, the petals, are pretty much Deb Lacativa.
and not only are beautiful to look at but such a JOY to
    sew. very sensual.

    Mo’a, just
    in love.
love makes you do some crazy things.
after looking at your blog just now, i thought of maybe adding
    a pocket to it somewhere.
and a thought your blog brought me…i remember back when, my
friend and i would stitch small things in the hems of our skirts.
sometimes notes. to ourselves. i had one skirt in particular for
    that.
thank you so much for telling of your time with India. i so love
    hearing it from You………

i see a bird coming in for a landing….even though there are no legs or beak, that’s what i see in this beautiful array of feathers/petals. maybe it’s the crow looking up towards it that makes me feel like it’s a bird…
