can you see them?  two more strands each….of all colors, brown….

002

and they HAVE done something really great…it's almost impossible to believe, but they have changed the whole energy of this cloth.  it has become one.   two of the three panels are now One, and really, all three, because just the hint to the right side has pulled it in.  Oh Sigh of Happiness.  i could  ~feel~ it happening even before i finished the stitching and hung it back on the wall…..

so, off now to buy a tarp for the wood pile.  the snows of Colorado are sliding down toward N Mex, no snow here but probably rain.

before i go, though, look what happened here!   as i was waiting for the fire to get going this morning, i noticed a really "nothing" scrap from a Deb Lacativa stuck in the magazine rack.  having loved the beautiful creature on Spirit Cloth this morning, and having thought more about literal/non literal (re: my mammal lizard)  i put her on the morning glory.  too wide.  cut off the one edge which then became perfect legs.   Hey ho.

Grace- I can see those grasses now! This is all flowing together so nicely. And I love the critter on the Deb piece, poof!
Did you notice the ‘for Grace’ before the photo comes up on spirit cloth? 🙂

Yes! the grass definitely ties the panels together. Two simple “marks” have changed everything. It also changes my perspective as I look at your cloth – is the grass close and the other objects far away? is the grass gigantic and the other objects miniature? Is everything else part of a grass underworld? You’ve got me wondering now…

oh that really does connect everthing…er…everYthing….and now i can ‘see’ how this will work on my piece too. i now have thread for it too [small etsy purchase]
ley lines…the magic in the earth, not sure of the spelling…but that’s what your stitches seem to be to me. maybe our cloths will meet each other this way…
    and the lizard is…well…just is

Hi Grace! I love the tendrils and tangles on the left – and of course the grasses. I have recently begun to notice Indiana grasses in a new way. I can see why you love yours so much – gentle and sturdy all at once. I like the bend and arc in your long stitched blades of grass – bringing the panels together.

Oh beautious day — caloo calay, she chortled in her joy! I see the grass and the way the stalks of arduous stitching unite the piece, and I just adore your creature in the second piece too.

As well as being connecting, the grasses really add an uplifting movement! The figure with the flower seems tender – almost a fetal position. Lovely.

Funny, I saw the figure as a frog until I read your comment. Now I see it also as a person, wrapped in cloth and missing it’s face for now. Interesting.

Lynda merry…your wonderings are magnificant…and fed
my own. the answer to all these questions is yes, and
a GREAT lesson in that. this is a big moment for me and
    my cloth learning.
and isn’t it something. two simple “marks”. and truly
that is ALL it was/is. i am still dumbfounded.

Susan…i love that you said this…your Indiana grasses.
Native grass is Native to where it is….and i had been
thinking that somewhere in my mind, but you now have
    SAID it….
it’s a HUGE thing…meadows, savannas, high desert mesa,
    rainforest
everywhere there are grasses. they hold such greatness
    in their commonness………..
    i need to learn more…………..
again..THANK YOU FOR SAYING THAT!!!!….coming from the
MidWest, i had been blind to native grass there…so much
vegetation…but i am sure there was and is this humble
    community all around.
if you think more and find more, please, tell me.
    BIG LOVE,

Sandy…it takes on more Clothness is what i love. just
those two grasses change the weight of it, how it feels
when i take it down and put it up. i no longer feel like
i need to be careful. it is strong.

Short note… The grasses are the perfect lines… I knew you would come up with them on your own. I did not need to come point my finger at where they should go! they make me happy!

you know, i am unaware of scale. and actually only really notice when someone else points it out.
    it’s really a Big Cloth. a little over 6ft wide, 3ft +
top to bottom. thank you for again mentioning scale…
i want to notice that…see what has happened this way…

if i see a single flake, i’ll wave it in your direction.
Snow is good here on the mountains, on the mesa. but
here, on me and the lizards and toads, the clumps of
grass…oh, just SunShine is good. we need an easy
    winter.

Your weather last winter was pretty harsh if I remember correctly. Snow does make life a bit difficult around here. About 80% of the population doesn’t know how to drive in it (although they may think they do), but I still love it.

yes. and in this time of her being “away”, i look around
some, not a lot, but some

    Art, yes, Beauty, yes,

i love how things come together with just a little thing. we are learning so much about art when we stitch. i see things so differently.
the lizard is wonderful.. hugging the morning glory. i still have a few flowers on my vine.
couldn’t handle snow yet either. just not there yet..
i miss jude too. i also am feeling an emptiness that isn’t being filled.
