i don't know why it's so important, trying to figure this out,   but i am anyway.

what IS it about  the  Day to Day  flow of Spirit Cloth,  the quiet momentum of Magic Diaries?

and maybe this might be some of it….

it's the opportunity, the priviledge of going along with Jude's mind,  as it moves through her world and life.    last night i am sitting in the almost dark, looking at that piece of cloth,  thinking, looking, and i get the pencil and draw just a little.    this morning i click into the MotherShip and   Ahhhhh,  she has been doing the same.  today is a tree,  a 9Patch tree with a magic 9 patch acorn.   and i nod.

for all of us who say we   Oh so much Want to,  we Would, If we could,  but we Can't, for Whatever reason…           Watching  someone     DO     it,  keeps what is inside each of us alive.  Keeps us remembering, everytime we look,  some little beautiful thought or image we had that we let fall away because of ……..something.

???? maybe this is it, or at least a significant part of It.   being constantly reminded that the cloth, the stitching,  to become what it Can be,  needs to be a constant companion with all the rest of our doings?

you guys are my mentors. I come here seeking knowledge and am never disappointed. It just began to snow- Oct 29th in CT, go figure. A perfect day to ponder my cloth. I feel like a sponge with all this influence. Now trying to settle in to my own….. ❀

Sandy…am thinking too, with reading your comment, how that is the
other half of all of it. the knowing that there are many of ME
out there, that feeling of “Us”. i think we all mentor eachother
each in our own way. i know how much your Happiness with finding
cloth, with dyeing fed my own happiness. how i look forward to
    seeing your Bear cloth.
    oh…the snow ~

grace not everything has to be done in thread….the pencil in your hand can be just as mighty as the needle, so if the thread ain’t cuttin’ it, draw it in!
i wonder if we could do a double-exposure collage sorta thing with our cloths….as a way to let them visit each other…i know your lizard would love to visit other pathways…if just ether-aly…

    i think the same
i look for this connection more than i want to admit.
i feel like i am in a relationship that provides so much learning. not just about stitching but about art. looking at an artist create.. being in her head. it gives me a feeling of confidence i have never had before to create.
i would not only miss it, i would grieve for it.
she is the glue that holds us all together..

Oh boy, that lizard sure ain’t no frog! he is awesome! As for Jude gluing us all together, I couldn’t agree more. Jude and all her fabulous followers, are what enticed me to start stitching again. You have such a way with words Grace, and always seem to say what we’d like to say, but don’t know how to(me anyway). It has always frustrated me that I can’t say what I feel with words. Being a part of this beautiful community has been so nourishing for my Spirit. Jude is a true inspiration. Love to you and everybody under Jude’s guidance. oxox

no…no frog, but be best part is that it could have been,
or, a toad, here, where i live. could have been every
single one of the things that people saw…and i didn’t
    until they said it.

Oh Grace; let me say that you have absolutely expressed why I`m following along Magic Diaries, and why I come HERE, with your words “Keeps us remembering, everytime we look, some little beautiful thought or image we had that we let fall away because of ……..something.” Yep, that’s it. And, I think the lizard is amazingly beautiful Grace. Thank you!

and Wendy, you would really, could really, have no idea
how many times as i am working on something, either on
the cloth or in my head
that images of things you have made arise for me. your
work has always floated in my Mind/Heart … where it
comes from and the true elegant beauty that it is….
so…yes. and we draw from each other so much.
    love to you,

i am thinking that finding this place brought to life…kindled something… that was just waiting, gave it air and fuel…and really, a kind of family (as you know). and nothing will ever be the same. and your pencil did some great sketching.

    air and fuel
i start the wood stove fire every morning. am trying to train self
to twist up the 5 pieces of newspaper it takes…the evening before.
in the morning, it’s cold. in the evening before, it’s still warm
    from the day.
trying to find new rhythms…in keeping with the ripening of darkness….in keeping with
    ripening
every evening for a while now, i split some wheelbarrow fulls of
wood and stack it. am doing the best ever, this year. i AM a
slow bloomer in so many ways.
back to the fire. first those 5 twisted sheets of newspaper. then
a handful of wood pieces, little ones, then one or two small pieces
    of wood. match.
after a minute or two, a good medium piece is layed on…carefully,
to allow for the AIR to circulate but then very soon after, the
second piece of good sized wood. one only will fade out. it
requires two to make the morning fire. then attention about adding.

as to the lizzard … I first saw a little girl hiding her head in a flower and loving the smell..
but now as the lizzard is drawn it had something magic like a fairy tale…
