it’s from when i was trying to do a good integrated
applique and couldn’t get it how i needed to and kept
trying different needles until i stumbled on this
size 9 large eye milliners needle
in the bottom of a “stuff” tin
    ABSOLUTE PERFECTION
and then, this last weekend i hunted them down through
this company. really great woman…talked to her on phone
because i couldn’t find them at first.
they are just the right thinness, are long, and the
    large eye is Great.
i am putting all other needles away.
i don’t know why i felt compelled to get so many?

    yes!, it is TRUE.
how many times in my life have i learned this.
    with hammers,
    car tools
    out door tools…axes, shovels, pitchforks
    vacuum cleaners
    melita coffee filters
    cast iron frying pans
    glass bowls
    and all the drawing stuff
these needles are my belov-eds. i sing a song to them.

    plenty. yes…
no need to spend hours searching for where i put that
    needle.
but i should take a pic of what i did to try to help me
    keep track of it
and i hope i don’t get “loose valued”, having such
    a wealth…

okay, I took a quick glance and thought Lucky Strikes? Pall Mall? because I know you’re trying to quit smoking (and that’s the ex-smoker in me, I suppose),but a slightly longer look revealed needles, which may keep you stitching when you’re itching for a smoke, so it’s good to have plenty!

You are so right about the good tools. I just treated myself to new needles too. I am always bending the one I am using and then can’t find another – so I got a lot and keep them close. Like a new box of crayons – but the colors yet to be decided.

Growing up with a craftsman father instilled in me the value of good tools. A good needle is truly a good friend. It won’t snap in half when you tug too hard, it will form to your hand, and make stitches dance. Enjoy your treasures and stitch to your hearts content.

mmmmmmmmmmmmm needles. I LOVE GOOD QUALITY NEEDLES. I am using the same brand and size at the moment, they are excellent. I have had a love for all things haberdashery since I was a child, in particular needles and thread. So as you can imagine I have quite a selection of old and new, my treasures. It is amazing how the quality can vary, crap ones just make stitching a chore. Nice to see you with a beautiful stash. Marg. ox

i WISH i had been to the shop. there is NO shop
here. so it’s just buying “blind” on-line. that’s why
i appreciated the woman so much when i called…a person.

boy…you can tell how long ago you quit. i don’t think they make those brands anymore. but i roll my own
    from a can.

I have no idea what I’m using, just whatever is close at hand! I’m not sure I’ve known a great needle…yet! I sewed all of Jude’s feathers with this old bent thing. Haha Maybe I should pay more attention to this tool of importance.

an old bent thing is just great. the reason i searched
for more is because an old bent thing Worked in a way
    i needed it to.
i think maybe something needs to come UP to make it an
    issue?
for me, i will forever associate these needles with
learning that Integrated Applique. it was a really
AMAZING MOMENT for me and a real significant point in
my learning all this cloth making.
