in the beginning i'd thought of putting many butterflies on the Diaries cloth.  but  as time has gone on, they feel like they would be too much.  but the symbolic meaning they hold for me remains.  this morning…..a thought:001
the stitching is sloppy, but i just wanted to see if it could work…

002
here the wings are outlined with white colored pencil …how it might look if i had been able to slow down and stitch more care~fully.

this was just on a scrap.  i'll try one directly on the Diaries cloth…go slow, take care.  little butterfly spirits, energy imprints.  maybe using a different color thread, too.

yes! this really works. of course, surrounded by snow, i thought of snow angels. and yes to the different colors of threads- a rainbow of spirits & imprints.

bless the snow’s heart for taking itself to Seattle. it still is
not melted off the mountains here…and it’s been a warm two weeks
    since.
i think i’ll really try this…it is leading me in a direction i
want to go with depicting energy lines/forms, like how the tree
came out. i’d like to really explore that as much as i can.

I love your flutterbys. Perhaps it is a butterfly in motion? Wishing you a wonderful day.

well that makes three! angels first then snow angels! we have had some snow here which is a treat because it comes and goes so fast!

i think this technique can create subtle movement but strong energy. i think the contrast version of the kantha will be a nice variation from the tree. and it is ghost like.

Yes, and I love how this conveys something winged in a more abstract way. I realized I was inspired by your cloth the other night when I was stitching “tracks” and they just trailed right on out of their box….. 🙂

process for me ongoing. it fits so perfectly with the
things i have in my head when i am making cloth. am
VERY excited to see what all it can become

well, some tweaking in order. no angel wanted…but
something that clearly is a butterfly…continuing…..
thanks, no sloppy, but it was fast and uneven…this
    next effort is much better

well…good that you have a little snow! but NO angels
    on this cloth.
am studying how something comes across as an angel
    rather than a butterfly…….??????????………

maybe it looks angel-y because of being white?

yes, but mostly because everything HERE is white.

I think it looks like an angel ’cause it’s long and thin. Maybe more round in shape?

I saw delicate wings flapping (b/c I’ve been stitching birds recently?), rapid motion, and a strong core. Enchanting!

A butterfly….transition, soft movement, definate energy. I’m seeing that Grace. I am imagining the colours of the rainbow too, all that energy.

well…not all those colours, but some????? in this

future, i’m sure and maybe that’s where the rainbow
    might be

    Grace,
I promise I sent a card. One with “silent night, holy night…” in German, of course, very traditional – short: kitsch!
I know I got the address right, because I always double check!
I am so angry!!! One can’t rely on the mail service any more.
I will send you a Easter card as replacement. They must be in the shops a few weeks from now!
but I am really annoyed – I didn’t receive a birthday parcel some years ago from a dear friend of mine – I learned about it weeks later, when she asked me whether I liked the present…”Present?? Which present???” …it never arrived.
    I am so sorry,…and ANGRY.
