these ARE milk goats. Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Goats. 9 does
3 bucks. and i WILL introduce them, once i have
found my footing. and i love it, the reversed state of

goat family. the daughter, Jenny, i took to the airport
today. she will come back around May 1, but will live

i will do my Best.
that’s ALL we can ever do. so. my Best.
there are dogs around here that run loose. SnowBunny,
the Matriarch already has experience with that when 2
german shepards attacked the herd at my daughter’s.
SnowBunny ROSE UP and did her Best. her throat and
chest were torn badly. daughter Jenny cared for her
for weeks and now she is good again.
i just want to do what i can. and i don’t know what that
is still…learning.
if i can, i will.
i was just standing at the door, looking out at them.
they are such adaptable Beings.
all are together now because of the accidental buck
break out. which means they are all bred. not intentional.
as the next weeks go along, i will create a seperate
place for the Buck pen. IF,
and it is a big IF….
IF
it looks like it can work here, i’ll keep them while
daughter Jenny regains her balance. then we will make
some decisions. for now though, it’s just to keep them
safe.
Tomorrow some major WIND is predicted. so if we make it
through that, then …. good.

i will include them in my nightly list of animals that i hope will see the see rise each morning. i have a long list…im sure they huddle together through winds and such. im looking forward to more narratives about them and photos. maybe a little stitched talisman to keep watch over them too. you could tie the talisman to the post. xox to you grace.

the talisman is already placed on the Diaries Cloth. i’ll
pic it soon. they are so curious and they know their
Place by mouth. so a talisman tied to their post wouldn’t
last long. but just outside it, Yes. i WILL do that.
we need many talismans now. just heard that daughter is
sitting hours in LA airpot till next flight. oh whaa.

my GUESS is through the September kidding event????
also, so much depends on how things go here. Mainly
the loose dogs. if that’s a problem, she will have to
divide them up amoung her goat friends..like board them.
it’s just all UNKNOWN at this point. i really have no

we have guard donkeys. that may be more than you want to take on. but ours are really like big ole dogs/pets themselves, but they do chase off predators. most shepherds i know have livestock guardian dogs so maybe that’s an option?

They are a great breed. smaller than the Nubian, less
destructive. give close to the same amount of milk, with
a very high butter content.
dairy products from goats makes a LOT more sense than
cows which require an enormous amount of space and feed.LikeLike

Dru…we got an Anatolian Shepard 2 years ago after
they were attacked by to neighborhood german shepards.
SnowBunny, who i will photograph extensively probably,
tried her best to protect the herd and got her throat
and chest ripped to the muscle. daughter valliantly
veted her and here she still is today.
Anyway, the Anatolian, Kadir. most excellent dog on the
planet was shot by her neighbor a month or so ago. i
think it might have been what tipped her over her edge
to give up California dreamin for now and just come back.
i loved that dog beyond love. he was extraordinary.
i am going to have to channel him. i will become him

need to begin the Beauty Shop work….they all need to
be sheared of winter coat. the little buck BUCKwheat

Grace! I missed you truly, I am so happy you are safe home although it sounds like it might have been a bit hair raising. I know something about how you are feeling right now – a great-grandson whois missing you already! They tug at your heart – family, goats, the whole thing. OK. The altar, candle, all that to bring you calm and a deep breath. Birthing goats – wow!

oh grace, what a terrible, terrible thing. we had a dog shot by a neighbor years ago and i still ache from the pain of it. i’m sure your anatolian is still there with you protecting you and the flock. i wonder if people in your area use guard donkeys or llamas – maybe they are more of a deterrent than another dog? what do ranchers do?
and spinning BUCKwheat and the other goats will be such a treat – i can send you some of the yarn for your stitching too.LikeLike
