going to

if so, her name is Jude’s Magic.
her herd name, the one thats mark will be tatooed in
her ear is Crazy Wisdom.
Crazy Wisdom’s Jude’s Magic. has a nice
ring
to it? yes?LikeLike

hey…? this just happened this afternoon? she looks so beautiful… but not what i would have thought a tiny baby goat would look like. she’s bigger than i imagined. but sooo adorable. i would claim her too. you must be so proud of carline. and i guess you know that they could give birth without you being there… like if you were out for the day for example. i am a complete novice in knowing any of this… i am so proud to have a friend who can have goats!!! bless your heart!

yes. this afternoon. she’s average size. just
regular, that way.
they could, but the Everyone Elses being such busy bodies…trying to see, trying to watch and the little ones wanting to get in the middle of it all. so, yes.
she could have done without a midwife. but it was
easier this way. crowd control was my job.
she chose under the shelf in Fiona’s Palace for her spot.
the tightest possible place. also meant that the babies
could hop easily up onto the shelf and ricochet around
over head. Bless Us All ~LikeLike

as above, Jude’s Magic.
really, this should be left to daughter Jenny. that’s
why the first little doe has no name yet. it’s her
herd. BUT
this one. everything about her i love. she looks like
a pencil drawing to me.
could have named her Graphite
or even, just Pencil.
the grandkids had baby chickens when they were little,
and named one Pencil and another Lightbulb. so…i guess
it could be Pencil.
BUT
no. Jude’s Magic. marks a point in Time for me. no
matter how it goes, i’ll keep her as a herd doe.LikeLike
-
jewel like beetle…yes. so many beetles there that are so
exquisite. Beetle. nice name…. there’s more to come, you know…LikeLike
-
actually, Jenny likes more uhhhhh, regular names. TenZen
is the only one i got to name so far and that was after
the Dalai Lama…his name Tenzin…she changed it even
then some. so…
but i am taking Liberties here. she owes me.LikeLike

even if she gets another name – she will at heart be Judes Magic to you…

Coming here this morning after being gone all afternoon yesterday and thunderstorms last night so I wasn’t on the laptop. This is such a magical joyful sight to see, this otherworldly little goat and her beautiful Mama. I know very little about goats but feel such a closeness, kinship to all of this. Comes from my beloved father who came to this country as a contract shepherd from Spain. And now at last you have claimed this little one by naming her and a more fitting name I don’t think can be found. And why not because your life has intersected from land keeping to cloth keeping to goat keeping and it is all one…

Grace, this little one is SOOO beautiful!!! I can see why you fell in love with her and the name is just right. It must be amazing to see all this life rising up right there in your own yard, a microcosm of LIFE and you are in it up to your elbows. How easily they give birth, how naturally – we humans are really an oddity when you think about it. And there’s the thing, we have to overthink everything. Give me slow cloth, slow living. Hugs.

Just beautiful! A spirit girl, for certain – and for you. Magic is truly afoot!! What an amazing reminder you now have – (another one) – every day – and difficult to ignore!!LikeLike
-
EEE you’re back!…yes. Magic afoot. was just out there
to feed and she is BIZZY. hard to be a single, you
have to develop a really good imagination. she’s working
on it.
and yes. she owes me a Naming. but…for the named,
well, we’ll still see how it all plays out.LikeLike
-
just out sitting with her and she’s more of an off white,
maybe like old linen. could name her that, Old Linen.LikeLike
-
it’s how i had my babies. if i would not have had to
RAISE them, i would have happily been pregnant and given
birth a million times. i loved it.LikeLike

she really is otherworldly. the perfection of her
markings is amazing…
Keeping. interesting word, interesting phenomenon.LikeLike
-
All is well out there this morning. bouncing kid and
hungry ma. as it should be.LikeLike
-
yes. i glad you saw it too. did you see that i
enjoyed the Sendak Post? maybe one of them will need
to be named Maurice….there’s enough more to come still.LikeLike
-
yes…i thought of the name Karma…but that would be
too karmic.
your Karma…yes. your beloved KarmaLikeLike

she’s always had teenys. maybe this time too?LikeLike

sitting, looking at her this morning, it’s like she’s
had a Walnut dip. the subtlty of her coloring is
stunning. she looks like a Silverback Gorilla from
the topLikeLike

Beautiful little one, but I love the mother too. She seems to be proud of her baby. Isnt it a miracle how perfect she looks?

Yes, Grace I did see your comment (commented back too). I think Maurice would be a fine name. And maybe it is a ‘regular’ enough name for Jenny too!

After another disagreement between my two girls I am inclined to agree with you – the raising bit anyway. Pregnancy and childbirth were not fun for me but I had a friend who, like you, loved the whole childbearing thing.
